yeah, I was exaggerating my opinion for effect.  Socialists are fine, but they should know that they are pursuing an impossible dream.  I take the Objectivist stance (I'm not a follower of Ayn Rand) that complete altruism is a regressive evil and will lead to global stagnation, so I naturally oppose socialism, marxism, communism, etc

But, it won't matter much when I become King of Earth and lead our people onto several intergalactic victorious over the Norvarts from Zemultous-8

This is the first major election I'll be able to vote in, and so far, I don't like any of the "major" candidates, especially Hillary Healthcare Clinton. I honestly have no idea who I'd vote for right now...

On the topic of education, I think magnet schools are, or should be, the future of public education through high school. Our school system in my county has greatly improved in many areas, since quite a few of the schools switched to magnet. My brother goes to a magnet school, and I can say he gets a much better education there than at any other private school in the area. Students are staying in school, actually learning, and moving on to pursue higher education, and let's face it, if you don't have a degree these days, it's MUCH harder to get a better job. This also helps get rid of,or at least reduce zoning issues, which have long been a problem in my county. Most of the rest of my state, excluding Nashville, hasn't really adopted the magnet school system yet, but I can see that changing soon, the public school system in Memphis is pretty bad, I think a switch would definitely do it good.
