Who cares? As for me, I wouldn't care if it was the Government of North Korea the one making money off this website.... As long as I have such a gigantic prog-database and a chance to talk with people and write reviews, I don't give a f**k. And, for that matter, I actually HOPE SOMEONE's MAKING MONEY, because in this consuminst world we live in, is the only thing that assures me the site will stay alive. So, whoever makes money or not, thank you very much, and I hope you are rich!

Please tell...

And also, are there, like, standards for the type of advertising you will accept, because sometimes these ads for "hotties"...well, it's a bit, I don't know, beneath the audience here, to put it mildly.

What right do you have to demand that information of someone? It's totally inappropriate.

I really think that information is nobody's business but Roni and Max's.

I have no problem with people making money from the site, (it's funny how some responded to my initial post as if I had a problem with that); I was just wondering if that in fact was happening; some websites make millionaires out of their creators.

It's all very exciting to me...

I am moving this to the "Help Us Improve The Site" Forum.
If anyone can get a "screenshot" of any undesirable ads can they post them here, please.

Thanks.

^As far as I know, advertisers are not chosen by the site owners, the advertisers buy space from Google (since the ads here are Googleads). Like Tony said, contacting Googleads about this is probably the solution.

Concerning the ads themselves, I don't like them. We are surely to sophisticated for such ads on our site!

I would agree that a bit of discretion might be warranted in choosing advertisers. Ultimately it's not up to us. This is a privately owned site. As far as how much they make, that is none of our business. Frankly I hope it is profitable for them. They deserve to make some dough for supplying us with this haven.

^ yes, but I guess that the question is: How does advertising & affiliate revenue compare to server costs. But I guess that's even more "none of our business" ... Wink

I think your question comes under the "none of your business" category...Wink

The more unsuitable advertising is being brought to Max's attention, but I think it is governed by "googleads"  so he will need to contact them. Revenue is needed to pay for server costs. No server no site.
