Keep your rega planar 3, but upgrade to a 1000dollars moving coil...
you must have the right preamplifier or a prepre...
Also you can buy expensive transparent cables (link and power), buy some vibration canceler like Fadel art/Amethyst

A free tip: check that your turntable is perfectly horizontal, in the two dimensions...

I'm only starting to know my hi-fi, I can only afford one killer piece every year or so,, and I've just started on my way. I've heard a lot about the Linn LP12 turntable. Haven't done too much extensive research into turntables, cuz I hate looking at stuff I'll never be able to afford, but maybe someday I'll drop $13,000 on one of those turntables that look like an oddball spaceship destroyer from the 13th galaxy...

Back in the 70, or maybe early 80, we friends always fantasied about our "dream team" of hi-fi equipment. As I remember, there was the McIntosh amplifier, the Thorens turntable, Nakamichi as cassete tape recorder, Akay as Tape reel recorder, and the speakers where JBL... Just a memory i like to share.
