A close race between Trilogy by ELP and Mirage by Camel. Voted for the former.

Personally I think that "Lost" and "Pioneers over C" beat the Emperor in his war room but that means this album is realy a masterpiece. The same for me is Trilogy, Animals, Songs from the wood, Udu wudu and the lamb. Mirage is not very far away. And after all my vote goes to Lark tongue's in aspic and funny that I concider it the third in quality after Red & Lizard and still the best from this superb list.
Guess which band is my favorite !!!

As negative as is sounds, the thread title is accurate. These albums are in third place by ratings.

I understand the reasons behind this poll, but the term 3rd rate doesn't sit well with me.
I know these are the 'third best' albums going on the reviews, but of course not everyone agrees with those reviews!
Therefore, I can't vote for Genesis, as that album is my favourite of all time, and I won't vote for it under the title 3rd rate!
That applies to others on here as well, but I have voted for Porcupine Tree, although this may be my favourite album by them too! (Incidentally, it should read 'The Sky Moves Sideways', not the World.)
I could have voted for Rush, or Marillion just as easily.

VdGG, followed by Crimson
not that I agree with those thrid place albums.
You should change your thread title >> misleading
Third rate is not third place.
Third rate implies awful >> third place implies third best

There are some of my favourite albums in this list, so I had to make a difficult choice.. which was PF's mighty "Animals". Other favourites of mine are Kate Bush's "Aerial", KC's LTiA and ELP's "Trilogy".

Many great choices - I plunged for a controversial one. So by Peter
Gabriel. I know many of you think it is too pop, but I love it.
Genesis, VDGG, Camel, Pink Floyd, Kate Bush and Porcupine tree were
strong contenders though.

Ege Bamyasi or H to He, then Udu Wudu. (voted VdGG before I noticed Can's album)
