Ahh nice. I've been a subscriber for about a year now. Can't wait for this issue...

You've just had a heavy session of electroshock therapy, and you're more relaxed than you've been in weeks.

A bit late I know, but I picked this up on the way home from my holiday yesterday. The CD is good, Circulus and Frost are worth checking out. The State of Prog article is interesting but a lot of the interviews are old and I was sad to see that even in a prog special they had to describe "Olias of Sunhillow" as "preposterous" and TFTO as "stupefyingly boring". especially when earlier they say that prog is an "unfairly maligned genre".

I thought that was only a rumor, referring to Dutch immigrants in the U.S. Being from that ancestry, I have heard a lot of "Hollander" jokes (mainly from my own family ).

I found Greg Lake's comments about reforming ELP in the interview a bit bizarre to say the least- he said ELP have 'had their day' and said he doesn't want to reform ELP as he doesn't want to 'play all the back catalogue stuff'. Yet that's what he is mostly playing whilst solo!!

I just got this today. Far, far better than the last issue which was one of the worst in recent memory imo. Most of the pages are to do with prog. Interesting article on 'the weirdest albums of prog'. I reckon most of the albums featured wouldn't be weird by the standards of some on this site!! Rick Wakeman's output is described as 'horrible' (am I the only one that likes his albums? ), a member of Pure Reason Revolution calls Dream Theater 'rubbish'( ), an archive interview with Rush and a top CD. Great stuff!

As a subscriber, I get all the bonus material included in the mag. As a matter of fact, my flat is full of CR bonus CDs and DVDs. Some of them are quite good too, like the Led Zep tribute in the last but one issue.

Actually, the CD is wonderful. Over 79 minutes. And why have I not discovered Frost yet?!

I've been a CR subscriber for a couple of years now (before that, I used to buy it from bookshops or newsagents), so I suppose I'll get it shortly at home. Hopefully it will be worth it!

The latest edition (dated September 2006 ) has a prog theme. The front cover main headline is "Sex!, Drugs!, Revolution!, The secret history of PROG"
Many bands and artists featured, including Greg Lake, Syd Barrett, Muse, Rush, MMEB, Mars Volta, Iron Maiden, Opeth, "The Clash love King Crimson" article, "Maddest prog albums" feature, "prog summit" discussion feature, etc.
The CD with the magazine has tracks by Porcupine Tree, Spock's Beard, Flower Kings, GPS (Asia), Fish, Circulus, Riverside, Frost, Mostly Autumn, etc. plus a link to a Magenta download (which doesn't seem to be working yet).
Looks like a good read.
