SMOKE and The Kingdom Of Curved - the first one and the last one!!! Smoke has awesome opening track - atmospheric gothic NIGHT(ÍÎ×Ü).The last one is a bit poppish and ordinary, but some tracks showing Shklyarsky's masterity as a composer and soundmaker.I wonder how would you like his voice!!!

Most minimalistic prog ever. LOLLOLLOL
I'll never risk to recommend this band to those who don't speak Russian.

ZVUKI MU(The Mu(sic) Sounds) - avantgarde rock/new wave/prog-related from the very 80s.Their leader Petr Mamonov now is a well-known avant theatre actor.
JUNGLES - legendary and almost unknown band from 80s
Sadly, almost no information about them both in Web

BLIND VANDAL - instrumental trio from Arkhangelsk playing Joe Satriani-like prog-rock
www.blindvandal.ru

DETI PICASSO(Picasso's children) - multi-national band based in Moscow playing very original music with elements of experimental/post-rock and folk music of Armenia
www.detipicasso.ru

No.r.Dream - very nice mostly instrumental prog-metal
nordream.musica.mustdie.ru

ESTHETIC EDUCATION - prog-related(just listen to their "Beautiful") Ukrainian band with singer Lui Frank(former films director, sings in English) produces modern rock in RADIOHEAD/COLDPLAY vein with elements of DOORS psychedelia.Their keyboardist Dima Shurov pushes Bach-like passages even in poppish songs of them!!!Great soundwork and prog-bounded material
www.estheticeducation.com

FLEUR - Ukrainian post-rock/trip-hop/gothic/neo-classical band with female vocals.Melancholic atmosphere, superb musicianship and great lyrics - highly recommended!!!Their albums released by French label Prikosnovenie
fleur.kiev.ua

DOROGA DJONGO(Djongo's road) - no information at all,I even haven't heard their stuff yet
http://www.rock-club.org/~music/bands/index.php?fb=GENRE;русский%20арт-рок

The most amazing Russian band is AukcYon. Love these guys. Supposedly they are a rock group, but of most unorthodox type. Whether or not they are prog you can judge for yourself, here’s their latest album:

http://www.russiandvd.com/store/album_asx.asp?sku=37168

Listen at least through their passionately anguished apocalyptic "Bin Laden", the second composition on this album. Although I myself much prefer their earlier stuff: albums Zhopa, Bodun and Ptica.

resistance is futile
