It is a numbers game.. the more you try the higher chance you have .. don`t shot too high don`t aim too low and always show respect and you can`t go wrong (that's what I do) the average guy (which most guys are) statistically has a 1/10 chance (those are the odds scientifically worked out by experts) so accept rejection as a fact of life and bravely soldier on till you eventually get lucky

Haha, well i'm definitely a shy guy and i hardly ever go out. I prefer the solitude. I never actually tried to pick up a chick, so i don't know how my luck would pan out. Honestly though, progressive rock is something i only delved into very recently. Ive been a Tool fan for years, thats about it.

Well, I'm married and my wife loves prog (I taught her ).
Probably prog-heads aren't successful with chicks... why not try adult, intelligent, real women?

well, for me, to get a women has always been the most difficult part of my life. it is a 100% failure. i did not develop intimacy when it was time, and nowadays it is practically impossible to rehabilitate.
beoing not my cup of tea, i decided to put energy elsewhere and prog rock is good for that.
i think sex is overrated, and many people have made sex their master....
so, to answer the original post: YES!

you'll find desolate music nerds in all types of music, nothing wrong with that, while I personally am in a relationship, I find listening/collecting/discussing/ music more appealing and fulfilling than trying to pick up on some floozy at bar, thats just me though,

Well Mr Eraserhead, I know someone else, who in turn knows someone else who knows someone that watches MTV a lot.
Or is that someone else.

It must be someone else, because the someone I know doesn't even know any someones who watch MTV a lot, or if they do, I haven't heard about those someones. But now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I've seen someones like that on TV.

To the question : I realy hope not cause if you feel down cause you ca'nt find a partner to sex (let's include women and those who prefer their gender here) than listening to some of Hammil or Robert Wyatt staff can easily persuade you to commit suicide.
To Ghost rider : you are the fourth I know is a woman here (with tons of men) so there is something wrong either in you or in all other females (I vote that the others have a problem).

Well, certainly not in my case, as I'm a woman and I'm not particularly interested in 'picking up' anyone. Anyway, I hate those stereotypes. I understand many people here are happily married or in a relationship, even though they've been listening to prog for years. | Ghost rider is a chick?!? Not in my case either. My wife likes Yes, Jethro Tull and all of Neal Morse's bands. Prog metal she can't stand.
I guess this is just a silly post from a lonely prog lover.
