Haha.
There are so many weird people on the internet, you can't help but take things too seriously. Whatever, my point is still valid. Best of luck to you in whatever you wish to succeed.

Whoops....
I tried so hard to exaggerate, but I failed to let you folks see that I was somewhat fooling around.
I feel kind of guilty now, especially because of the fact that ivansfr0st replied in such an extensive way.
Sorry people, next time I'll try other ways to make a joke, or just act completely serious .

you're trying to say - people here don't notice you and don't give you
enough credit.
Well, I also came to the site as a consumer more than a year ago.
I hardly helped anyone because I had known and experienced less than
practically anybody else. Nobody cared when I left and nobody noticed.
When I came back under a new account, things were different. I had more

I have no idea what you are talking about defending Dream
Theater(nor do I want to know actually), however, I see a certain level
of insecurity in your words. Let me assume that you think nobody here
remembers you. Well, I remember recommending you albums in a thread
about Agalloch members' side projects and talking to you in Novembre's
'Materia' thread(by the way, I posted a review of it earlier today), so
you can forget about that, people saw your internet face.
I'll go straight to my "verdict": it is a wise decision to say,
but make your stay as valuable as possible here. Obviously, it is
impossible to ask a newcommer to write long thoughtful reviews or
submit a hundred of unknown bands to the site. Be sober - newcommers
don't help anyone, they are the ones who are helped to improve. In
order to make your stay here worthwhile without taking up too much of
your free time, I suggest stopping to waste your time responding to
stupid topics and learn by reading and considering each opinion before
forming your own.
To sum it all up: don't go - you'll regret it. This site is full of knowledge, why not use it? |
First of all: I'm definitely gonna read your Materia review in a couple of minutes. Looking forward to it!
And about your reply: thanks! Despite the fact my 'joke' didn't reach you, you've got some good points in your story.
Over the first couple of weeks PA felt like a flood of information
about a topic of which I don't really know that much (prog in general).
So you start taking part in discussions which are easily accessible
(the discussions that are not that interesting).
I will definitely try to contribute something to this site. In a few
days (I hope I'm able because I'm pretty busy last months) I will try
to write my first review with the help of a fellow-PA'er.
I hope you will be so nice to take the time to read it, and maybe let me know what you think about it.
Once again: sorry for the 'joke', and thanks for the extensive reply!

Well, this is my 100th post. Time to look back at the last couple of weeks, and ask myself: am I having fun here? Is my presence desirable?
Yesterday I spent the entire day in confinement and thought about those important questions, and tried to answer them.
I know: this sounds impossible. Getting everyone to like Dream Theater would probably be easier, but: I did it. I came up with a satisfying answer (satisfying for me, that is).
But, suddenly, I had a thought which didn't seem to fit a prog-lover:
What would the other people say? |
So, my personal review isn't complete without your opinion.
Should I stay or should I go? Is there a future for someone like me on this forum...?
It's all up to you guys (and girls). My future depends on you. Good luck.
