Some of the suggested combos are incendiary!!

I have no suggestions for personnel, but given the expected half-life of some of these, how about "Unstable Nucleus" as a band name?

Oh, and I know its only a thought expt, but a special Nobel Prize for Optimism to the two or three guys who picked Fripp & Lake in the same band  Evil Smile Ouch

Prog Super Group:

Female Vocals: Amanda Parsons (National Health)
Male Vocals/Bass Guitar : Richard Sinclair (Hatfield and the North)
Guitar/Flute : Andrew Latimer (Camel)
Guitar : Phil Miller (National Health)
Keyboards : Peter Bardens (RIP) (Camel)
Keyboards : David L. Stewart (National Health)
Violin : David Cross (King Crimson)
Saxophone : Mel Collins (King Crimson)
Oboe : Lindsay Cooper (Henry Cow)
Drums : Chris Cutler (Henry Cow)

Yeah, it's big, more like an orchestra than anything else. But if all these talented powerhouses got onto one stage (albeit if they overcame any differences they may have had) they could probably make some of the best music ever heard. I'd kill to hear one piece by a lineup this killer.

Ok my dream group would be

Mikael Akerfedlt (Vocals, Guitar)
Devin Townsend (more vocals and what ever else he does)
Mynard (Lead vocals) (I like multiple voices at once ok)
Herman Li (Guitar) (He's from DragonForce)
Derek Sherinian (Keyboards)
Dimmu Borgir Keyboard guy (More Keyboards, mainly like orchestral backing) (He is one awesome keyboard player type guy, whole orchestras at once, only reason for listening to that band)
Bass dude from Opeth (forget his name)
Drummer guy from Meshuggah (also forget his name)

Put them together and it would probably sound like crap but I'd still like to hear it.
Progressive: Intelligent music for intelligent people.

Not bad at all...Wink The only thing is, they would never even get to choosing a name, as they would probably kill each other first! I can't even start to imagine Blackmore, Emerson, Wakeman and Lake in the same band...Confused

And Yes, Transatlantic can easily be considered a supergroup. One nay sayer
had an icon of someone smoking a fatty. Could be a direct correlation to
their answer.
