This topic should return every month!

At this moment these compositions come to my mind:

The Court Of The Crimson King by King Crimson

Zarathustra from Museo Rosenbach

The Scene Of Pale Blue from Outer Limits

Alanderie from Fantasy

Solo piece from Rick Wakeman on Yessongs (Halleluja from the choir Mellotron )

Karelia from Anekdoten

You And I from Landberk

Storm And Thunder from Earth & Fire

..... till next month  .. ?

I'd like to mention a passage in the middle of "Syntelman's March of the Roaring Seventies" by Amon Düül 2 from their album "Tanz der Lemminge". Also by the same artist "Deutsch Nepal" and the end of "Sleepwalker's Timeless Bridge", both from "Wolf City".

I feel the Mellotron is the backbone of such bands as King Crimson and Genesis. It's an excellent instrument, it creates a wonderful atmosphere and beefs up a bands sound a lot. Without it I feel 'Genesis' would never have been so amazing to listen to. Those wonderful soundscapes etc.

So what's your favourite Mellotron part/section/intro? Give me your examples

I love the Watcher of the skies intro, or 'In the Wake of Poseidon' by Crimson
