Is that the ABWH tracks, or the Kaye/White/Rabin Yes tracks Yars, or perhaps some of each?
The album was of course effectively a half album by each stuck together.

I like multiple layers, therefor the best album IMO has to be "Onion"

i chose CTTE. Going for the one is excellent, but the problem is that parallel and going for the one are not outstanding tracks; if they were as good as awakwn, wonderous atories and turn of the century, GFTO would be by far the best Yes album.
The worst Yes album is definitely Tales from Topog oceans: that's one of the dullest overrated album in prog rock. It is followed by tormato.

I have to vote for Close to the edge. I was watching the video YesYears and Bruford starts talking about how CTTE was recorded all differently from others. They'd set up in the studio on Monday or Tuesday and record 1/4 of a song (because the other 3/4s weren't envisioned yet), tear down, travel to northern England and set up for a gig there on Wednesday night, tear down and go back and set up in the studio on Thursday and continue recording. Those wacky guys... I love 'em!

Fragile, the Yes album lacked Wakeman's classical and magical solo abilities, and after Fragile they lost their love for it all.

I'd say Relayer ..Gates Of Delirium soooooo Rocks \m/
Soon oh Soon the light ..indeed tuxon!
but this was tough having to choose between the sensational and all time fave Close To The Edge..and yeah Going For the One ..The feeling you get when you listen to that sends your emotions wild.
Relayer displays great imagery in the lyrics , Jon wrote such deep lyrics .
this is a class album.

I deffinetly agree (I already submitted a reply, so you probably already know)
i'm a bit reluctant to call relayer a masterpiece, for it's very hard to really get into it (it took me approx. 1000 listenings before i really got a hold of it(I used it as a wakeup album)). Axtually I'm listening to The gates of delerium right now, and i can't imagine it took me so long to understand that it's great.
Can I still change my vote (I voted for the yes album) This is supperb.

Anything but 'Open Your Eyes' I would say. (What a bunch of poo that album was).
I voted 'Fragile'. Why? I dunno, ask me again when I'm sober...
That or 'CTTE'. Both albums never cease to impress me.

If you ask me, which one has my favorite songs: Yes Album by far, but production sucks, and that horrible silent space between Your Move and All Good People, really turns me off.

Close to the Edge is the finest piece of prog music ever.No album has ever affected me like this. It shaped and changed me forever.The other Yes albums from that unique era 69 -79 are each in their ways inspiring musical creations.I love prog music and all it's contributors but no other band mean as much to me.

I KNOW DEEP IN MY SOUL THAT AN ALBUM THAT I REALLY LOVE IS THE YES ALBUM, WAS MY FIRST YES BUYING AND THE BEGINNING OF THE ADDICTION. BUT AS OTHER REVIEWERS AND MEMBERS I HAVE HESITATED WHEN DECIDING IF CTTE OR TFTO DESERVE THE TITLE OF THE GREATEST AND AS EVER MY HEART MOVES ME TO VOTE FOR THE SECOND. I FEEL THAT TALES IS AN UNIQUE ALBUM WITH LOTS OF TEXTURES THAT MADE ME LOVE IT AT FIRST HEARD... THE YES ALBUM REMAINS AS MY SENTIMENTAL ONE BECAUSE OF THE ADDICTION, BUT BEING MORE FAIR (IF THE ADJECIVE FITS) TALES IS THE GREATEST STUDIO WORK OF YES.... Damm, I SO wanted to have and original reason for choosing Tormato 
CTTE has it all. The classic line-up, Eddie Offord behind the mixing desk, Roger Dean (albeit in rather muted form) and the band at the peak of their form.
I have to say that 'Going For The One' comes a close second.

I'm torn... I've alway rated CTTE and Relayer as being on the same level of brilliance. How can one choose between the two? *my head a splode*
I think I'll go for the underdog: despite the absence of good Mr Wakeman, Relayer gets my vote. This time.

Hi Hammar,
My reviews are under the name Bob McBeath. Looking at the review page, I see 88% of the ratings are 4 or 5 stars, nothing below 3 (so far). While I enjoy the whole album, it's"Awaken" which does it for me. That track just sounds better and better.

I know the songs from the Keys to Ascension collections, and I agree with you, Awaken is outstanding. But I think the entire Going For the One gets to soft for me...
