Since I'm new to this site I've noticed nobody is mentioning CHUCK SCHULDINER and his bands DEATH and CONTROL DENIED. If not Death, then Control denied is one of greatest prog-metal bands in 90's. For those who don't know who is Chuck Schuldiner a little introduction. He is one of godfathers of death metal and also one of greatest guitar players, songwritters and singers ever. Unfortunaly, he died in 2001 of brain cancer. Just try to listen to his work and then judge.

Death, but also Voivod and Atheist.

...and therefore Celtic Frost, Kreator and pre-Metallica Metallica, maybe even Sepultura or Venom - the epic "At War With Satan" is longer than many prog tracks!

There's no denying the talent or technical mastery (except Venom - I was joking there!), but there's no denying the metal either.

Might I be so bold as to suggest Diamond Head...

Also, maybe Peter Sinfeld should be listed?  He wrote the lyrics for early King Crimson as well as Emerson Lake & Palmer and has done a solo album.

Hope you can have it in your website

Seru Giran featured the fabulous artist Pedro Aznar if my memory serves me well. For those of you who don't know Pedro Aznar, he sang for Pat Metheny (and played some percussions) in the eighties and lead a brilliant solo career. Carlos, do you know the brazilian band Sagrado Coraçao da terra ? They play a very melodic symphonic prog rock and feature a fantastic violinist : Marcus Viana.

Thank you all for your suggestions ...

Please understand that your request may take a couple of weeks before being added. If we deceide that this is a good band to add to Prog Archives.

Thanks again, you are the reason why Prog Archives is a good resource

Great web site, congratulations!

I'd love to see Uriah Heep included. One of the finest bands Britain has ever produced, and of course still going today. "July morning" from Look at yourself probably represents my introduction to Prog.

It would be great if you could add an mp3 of Supersister. I think they're great and people should know their music! A great song would be "She Was Naked". But I understand you're busy writing new discographies and biographies...

I'm looking forward to Frank Zappa!

1st thank for the recommendations, we will take them into considerations in the next wave of NEW BAND ADDED

Conerning the mp3 ... we want to take the risk to help visitors discover new music. And your opinions on how mp3 is helping you to discover great music ... is important .. in the case we were getting in trouble...

Thanks
