LOL!!! How on earth did AFTK manage such a big lead in this poll??? It's one of the weakest records in the Rush discography as far as I'm concerned, with or without Xanadu. Give me something like Test For Echo over this album anyday.

I will go for Permanent Waves; near perfection is this gem.

In terms of proggy Rush, nothing really comes close to Hemispheres.

I was made to love magic

Love all Rush albums till Moving Picturs, but A Farewel was my introduction to Rush world and I will never forget how my neighbour "teach" me how to pay atention to Geddy and Peart. But with the exception of some weak 80s albums, I do love all Rush albums, from the hard rocker Rush to Vapor Trails.

I definitely like the early stuff most, up to 2112 (the suite only)... although "Counterparts" is very cool, too.

What?
The next RUSH albums poll?
I have already voted in about 5 identical polls in this forum and I refuse to vote in this one!!!

BTW, I love all RUSH albums between 2112 and Signals (including both of these albums of course)

I don't have every Rush album but I would chose 2112. The song is
incredible and the backing tracks are very good as well.

Oh geez...  Rush through Signals are all great albums, but I'm going to have to go with Hemispheres.  C'mon, Cygnus Book II, the Trees, LA VILLA STRANGIATO?!?!?  It's great!  Although I was about thiiiiiiiiis close to voting for Farewell to Kings... that's a great albums as well.

Ooh, wait, I forgot about the live 'uns.  My favorite live record is Rio, but I'll still go with Hemispheres...

Hemispheres and Farewell to Kings are imo the best prog metal has to offer. Fly by Night and 2112 are two of the best Hard Rock albums of all times, and Moving pictures + Permanent Waves are the greatest albums of the eighties. Rush proved that prog could rock as hard as anything else.  It's way to hard make a choice.

Has always been 'Exit stage left', they were and are still always a live band, the close of the 70's and early 80's they were at their pinnacle. I just love 'Jacobs ladder' and 'Xanadu' on this album..

None of their studio albums are remotely as good as they were live, where they were brilliant. Therefore I go for All the World's a Stage, the only album I think deserves 5 stars. Fly by Night comes closest of the studio albums.

2112 was the first Rush album i purchased.  I have always loved it but I think that Hemsipheres followed by Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures are the best.  Really, all the albums between 2112 and Signals are among my favorites.
