I'm not that drumming specialist but I'm always impressed by Michael Giles performance at '21st Century Schizoid Man'.

In general I like several drummers: Bill Bruford, Neil Peart, Carl Palmer, Graeme Edge, Phil Collins, etc. Drummers are very well represented in the prog-scene (same for all other main instruments).

Barriemore Barolow on Bursting Out, to be sure

Carl Palmer, anything by Neal Peart of course

Stewart Copland in their Live concert (so what no prog?, he's an absolutely fine drummer)

Bill Bruford "Heart of the sunrise" from Fragile.

Or, since you said any drummer, John Bonham on "In my time of dying" or "When the levee breaks".

Okay, we see that many here are MEGA Neil Peart Fans, so let deviate a bit from the usual "Beter than nonsense" and get to the "meat and potatoes" let's have you write down your favorite drumming performances, by which drummer, and on what song/album...AND P.S> it could be by any drummer....

i.e. Phil Collins and Bill Bruford on "The Cinema Show" from Second's Out

I'll be back later to see everyone's results....
