"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”
"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present." |

Keyboards are very important for the prog-scene but GUITAR rules since it is rock! |

Question looks like "what is more important for people - arms or legs?". Obviously each instrument is important. |

I'm a keyboardist.
Simply put: no keys = no music. :D Speaking seriously, keys are VERY important to prog. But there's no instrument which is not essential. Voice is an instrument too, but in prog we make instruments sing. |

It can do without anything, but like Sleeper, I'd say bass and drums will be sorely missed if they aren't there. Personally I like keyboards more than any other instrument, but still there's a lot of great music without keyboards. Edited by Moogtron III |

Listening to Van Der Graaf Generator recently I realised despite enjoying it there was something in their sound missing could it be Guitar ? ... I also listened to Wishbone Ash recently and I enjoyed them also but once again there was something missing, perhaps keyboards ? My Question is this , what instrument cant Prog do without ?
