Hey everyone,

What newer bands(not necessarily prog) are you into? Here are a few that I'm really digging lately...

Tool/A Perfect Circle - Yes, it may not be prog, but these guys are heavy metal at its finest. The songs have catchy metal riffs and dark, introspective lyrics meshed with fine, moody vocals. My favorite is probably Lateralus from them.

Modest Mouse - Have you heard of these guys? They started off as an indie band, but they are very progressive in the sense that they're always experimenting with their music. "The Moon And Antarctica" is a must have for any collection.

Darren Hayes - Pop music at its finest(yes, I know - not many prog fans like pop, but some artists can be very creative with the genre.) Darren is, hands down, one of the greatest singers I've ever heard. Just a killer voice.

Porcupine Tree - This band is very familiar around here, but I love them to death. I have three of their albums(Sky Moves, Up The Downstair, and the new one), and the albums just seem to get better with time like a fine wine. Killer material.

Radiohead - These guys are top songwriters, and very creative to boot. My favorite is probably the new one tied with OK Computer.

The Flower Kings - What can I say about this band that hasn't been said before? Strong material, great musicians, wonderful lyrics and singing(yes, both Stolt and the other singer.) My favorite from this band is probably Flower Power.

King's X - Christian heavy metal? Yes, and very talented christian heavy metal. These guys sound like a cross between the Beatles and Black Sabbath, only heavier(if that's possible. ) My fav is probably either Gretchen Goes To Nebraska or Ear Candy.

That's all I can think of right now, but I'm sure there's more. What about you?
