Even Nick Mason's mum,or Nick himself, wouldnt pick him as top drummer out of virtually any list of drummers...
|
Well, he's neither

Dude- serious- if you pick someone else- your picking them just because you don't like Geddy's voice

I went with Bonzo, but I think Barrie Barlow is a very underrated drummer (he's never on any of these polls!).

Since this is a Progressive rock site I will ONLY stick with the progressive rock drummers....
Of the Golden Age Prog drummers the Acrophobe of them all is Bill Bruford.
2. Phil Collins-Was truly amazing during the Seventies....
3. Guy Evans-His jazzy chops could match Bill on a good day, but so severly underated by many even on this site...
4. Andy Ward-One of the main reason Camel's music became more complex...
5. John Weathers-Probably the truest percussionist of them all, severely talented and the grossly underated Ray Shulman on bass, that rythym section could match or better any of their peers even on a off day...

I voted for Bill Bruford but we're getting into the subjective "best" =
"favourite" thing. Carl Palmer should really be on here, so should Alan
White for completeness. If Billy Cobham was here I might just have gone
for him...

Nick Mason but no Palmer, Hiseman or van der Linden? As John McEnroe would say "You cannot be serious man!"
