Otherwise you mean to confirm that Pawn Hearts is a bit too much for
me. and you were in fact teasing me with this guy attached ->
Anyhow, you are right.
BTW I
also have the first solo album from Hammill, but after a short
enthusiastic period feel that I am losing interest a bit. I assume
other albums are not only piano and voice.

Only three albums in my possession:
H to He who am the only one - The emperor ... Pawn hearts - A Plague of lighthouse keepers Godbluff - Arrow (at the moment, but mt first VDGG songs was Undercover Man, and that song will always keep a special place)
Next album to discover would be Still Life and I hope it will be more in line with Godbluff than Pawn Hearts. Pawn Hearts is sometimes a bit too much for me.

Fantastic poll, congratulations Titanic:
Van der Graaf are my favourite band, so I'd even take three pieces for each album, but the poll is clear. So:
Afterwards
Refugees
Lost
The plague of lighthouse keepers
The sleepwalkers
Childlike faith in childhood 's end
When she comes
Yellow fever/cat's eye
Roncevaux
Every bloody emperor
I also considered Time Vaults because it mostly contains original tracks or very different versions.

This is hard. I only have about half of all their albums, so it gets even harder.
The only thing I`m really sure of is that Sleepwalkers is the best track on Godbluff.
