THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA      The Viking invasion continues with a superb Heavy Prog band named after a novel by Ernest Hemingway. The Old Man and the Sea hail from the unpronounceable district of Midtjylland in central Denmark. They have a Marshall Plan with Marshall Amps turned all the way up to eleven! They ain't playing no surf music. They're gonna play some heavy music. They're gonna play bad. They're gonna play loud. They know just what they want it to sound like. It's gonna sound like... OH NO ONO       A thought that must have occurred to Paul McCartney on more than one occasion shortly before the break up of The Beatles. Progressive Pop band Oh No Ono are quirky by name, quirky by nature, so if you're expecting something a little bit different, then you won't be disappointed. Smile

ODD PALACE      A band of heavy proggers bordering on heavy metal who love raising merry hell on stages all around Europe, especially in their native Copenhagen. Yes, it's Denmark's answer to Porcupine Tree, although Odd Palace's raucous singer is an acquired taste. Confused

MYTHIC SUNSHIP       Denmark's answer to Ozric Tentacles! A number of warped factors led to the formation of instrumental Space Rock band Mythic Sunship (great name!), but one thing's for sure, they have the able assistance of Jonas Munk of Causa Sui on occasional guitar and mixing duties. After a while though, all of Mythic Sunship's seemingly interminable psychedelic space jams all mind-meld together into one endless conglomeration of similitude, so with that in mind, it's time to take a swift detour at Rigel 9 and head at warp speed for the next Danish prog artist on the A-Z list. Ad Astra!  Smile

I can assure you that he hasn't left Causa Sui unless you have a source I haven't got access to. On the contrary, he is in the process of laying the final touches on their new album which will be out soon.

Maybe he never left Causa Sui at all. I assumed Jonas Munk had left to begin his solo career, but then again, being part of a band never stopped Rick Wakeman releasing 108 albums as a solo artist. Smile

MY BELOVED      You've heard of film noir. Well, this is music noir, otherwise known as post rock. Beloved by some, but not by all, My Beloved sound like every post rock band you've ever heard before, giving the impression the band could almost post the music in without turning up in the studio, hence the term, post rock.  Wacko
