Jon Anderson has sung with more bands than I care to remember, including The Band Geeks, and I love this Yessong, in a Roundabout way. Smile

In Part 9 of the Rock History Music interview, Jon talks about the possibility of getting back together with YES again and also says his album "In the City of the Angels" recorded with Toto was a big hit in Quebec province, Canada,  but peculiarly, wasn't a hit anywhere else in the world. Confused

Just in time for Christmas.....

Not one of the greatest Christmas albums, it has to be said, but still much better than "Shatner Claus: The Christmas Album", although that's no great recommendation. Tongue

Who else but Jon Anderson could make a song about nuclear war sound cheerful? Ouch

Revolving Doors: Jon Anderson talks about the comings and goings of various YES members over the years, including the times when he first met Steve Howe (in Bodast) and Rick Wakeman (in the Strawbs) in Part 7 of the Rock History Music interview.

In Part 6 of the Rock History Music interview, Jon Anderson says the Union tour in 1990 was a lot of fun but behind the scenes it was "total chaos", which resembled Spinal Tap at times.

In Part 5 of the Rock History interview, Jon Anderson talks about how driving from Edinburgh to Glasgow over an endless succession of roundabouts led to the writing of Roundabout, in a roundabout way. Smile

The best Live performance of Roundabout you'll ever hear with Geddy Lee of Rush filling in for Chris Squire on bass. Clap

This is Part 4 of the Rock History Music interview with Jon Anderson and  in this Short Story, Jon talks about The Friends of Mr Cairo and how much he wanted Vangelis to join YES (as a replacement for Rick Wakeman) to make the dream line-up: Aphrodite's YES maybe?

^ Thanks! Flight of the Moorglade is a great song, which reminds me that Jon played all of the instruments himself on the Olias of Sunhillow  (so it truly was a solo album in every sense), which I still haven't managed to buy on CD. I currently only have two Jon Anderson albums on CD: Toltec and The More You Know. The one YES album I'd really love to get hold of is Tales from Topographic Oceans, then I can sail away to dreamland listening to the album late at night. Smile

Undoubtedly, The Yes Album that's been the Big Generator of the most controversy over the years is Tales from Topographic Oceans. YES, it's a long double album with four long Yessongs which was treated like a rotten Tormato by the music press, but if you Open Your Eyes, you'll gain The Keys to Ascension and realise what a classic album this is. The album came Close to the Edge of splitting the band up, when there was a Magnification of tensions within the group with so many Fragile egos at stake. In the ensuing Drama, Time and a Word has it that Rick Wakeman threatened to walk out during the recording of the album. The album climbed The Ladder of success though, topping the UK album charts for two weeks. Rick Wakeman left the band and didn't appear on the following Relayer album. There was Talk of a re-Union, but Heaven & Earth had to be moved to persuade Rick to return for the Going for the One album in 1977. The best-selling YES album of all though, released in 1983, was famously named after its catalogue number, 90125.

Wonderful post, this took a great deal of work!  Thank you!

I saw Jon at his solo show "Voice of Yes," and recorded his live version of "Flight of the Moorglade" from Olias.  This was in 2011, time flies!

I love this particular song, please enjoy!
