Agreed ... maybe I was a little harsh because some of them aren't progressive at all.

That's a really odd list ... I saw Keane one month ago ... they were really underwhelming, as were U2. Muse and Tori Amos are great, Frank Ferdinand is ok, Coldplay - they're not hurting anyone. But Green Day are really bad IMO.

Good to excellent albums in recent years from:

Keane, Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Coldplay, U2, Tori Amos, Green Day, to name a few.

Waiting for Mike Oldfield's Light And Shade,coming out on September 27th.

I listened to "Present" too...It's pretty good,can't say I don't like it...

The new releases by Mostly Autumn, Dream Theater, The Mars Volta, Coldplay, Opeth and Finnish bands Moonsorrow and Sentenced have been outstanding this year!

Someone already said "Present" which is really good. I would have to add "Dark Matter" by IQ which is one of the best things I've ever heard, Glass Hammer's new one which I got today and probably the new Pendragon one which is out in 5 days time.
