^ Thanks!

Now it's recommending a band called "Silver Apples" ... this is really weird stuff. Do you know them?

if you liked "Timewind", try "Picture Music" and "Moondawn"

Next track on my last.fm player:

Steve Hillage - Salmon Song. A little supertrampish ... but after a few minutes it segues into a cool synth-driven "dreamy" soundscape.

Mainly the solo material from Klaus Schulze and Edgar Froese. Also Finnish electronic sonic explorers Nemesis but I reckon their albums are nearly impossible to get from anywhere else than Finland.

Ash Ra Tempel is the band that came closer to the sound of TD. The band's first album is for sure one of the best I already heard...
And above all, is punk

did you try the solo albums of Edgar Froese? if not, I especially recommend "Epsilon in Malaysian Pale". Klaus Schulze is another artist you should try. Michael Hoenig's "Dparture from the Northern Wasteland" is also in that vein. Ash Ra Tempel and the Cosmic Jokers are a little different, but still close enough to it. the first album of Ashra too

I really like that 1970s, moody, atmospheric synthesizer sound that Tangerine Dream did so well. Anyone have any suggestions for bands that do anything similar?

Thanks!
