I have to say dear Rick is why I love Floyd soooo much.  He has got a magic touch - some of those chords he plays, his Farfisa sounds, man, something like the wicked build-up on Set The Controls live is totally mind-blowing.  And when he comes in with the mini-moog after all the wind stuff on Shine On part 6 with Waters' flanged bass churning away - wow - I gotta go.........

I know what you mean. I found out about his passing only about a year after it happened. I was a bit bummed out.

Indeed, I love Wish you Were Here. I used to say it was my favourite album of all time, but now, I don't know, it's kind of useless to state a favourite album, favourite band, favourite song, there are just so many so good that I just have to enjoy them all. I guess I just have to include them into the club of my very favourites. Even from Pink Floyd, at least Animals has grown on me up to just the same status of enjoyment. However, still if I had to name my very favourite band, I would have to say Pink Floyd, my favourite album, I would have to say Wish you were Here, my favourite song, I would have to say Shine on You Crazy Diamond (all parts together), even if it is just out of habit.

The Wall and Animals are masterful albums my favorite of theirs
