But they didn't. And if the Bears had played better to start the season, it wouldn't have mattered. You can't weight past and present performance differently.

I do appreciate the Bears are much improved, however if the Lions (or Packers for that matter) produced even semi decent performances over the last month the division would be finished already.
I'm hoping the Pack can see off Pittsburgh on Sunday (easier said than done) to set up a mouthwatering climax at Soldier Field. We will definitely need Rodgers back for that one however if we are to have any chance.

I don't think the Bears are being gifted anything. They have a top 5 offense and good special teams. They're an exciting team.

Nothing really surprises with the Lions any more. They are quite famous for grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory. The rallying cry around these parts is SOL. Same Ol' Lions.

^ Scott, I just can't believe what has happened to the Lions these last few games. I saw their hammering of my Packers 3 or 4 weeks ago and they were immense. That was a totally dominant performance in all facets of the game and I really thought we were looking at a genuine SB contender. Their performances and results since have been mind boggling..... The lkelihood is now that the Packers and Lions ineptness (or suckiness as you guys say ) will gift the Bears the Division. I suppose Rodgers could come back which might make things interesting..............

I predicted that Baltimore would win with combined total points of 35. Damn if I wasn't nearly psychic. I pretty much figured it was over when the Lions scored too soon yet again. Scoring a touchdown to take the lead is generally good, but when you leave nearly 2 minutes on the clock for a team like the Ravens who specialize in come from behind wins you are just begging to lose the game. It is like Groundhog's Day with the Lions with these kind of losses. 3rd down and 15 against the Lions is pretty much a gimme when it matters most. Oh well. Disappointed that they lost, but my winnings for the week help to numb the pain.

I feel like the kid in my sig right now. Most disappointed I've ever been in my team. Ever.

Good lord, do the Lions suck. I don't believe they have ever outsucked the suckiness I have seen these last couple sucky games. And I've watched them suck for over four sucking decades.

At least the Lion's coaching staff will surely be fired (assuming they will now miss the playoffs).

WOW
6 of 6 for Tucker, with kicks of 53 an 61! That was an epic way to take the lead, on a 60 yarder with it just making the bottom corner. The reaction of all the Lion player was priceless.
Gotta say, Detroit is a bit Dallas-esque. Tons of talent but plagued with mistakes and anti clutchess (there was that epic Stafford drive against Dallas but well it was Dallas). Stafford also seems a bit anti clutch and just kinda tosses bricks out there often.
Of course can't be too harsh, they may have the 2nd most turnovers but my team is #1 by miles. So don't feel too down, yall play the G men next week. I pray Eli makes it out alive...and with Cruz concussed I honestly expect another shutout.

I'm guessing on a Raven victory, too. In these tight situations that require the Lions to actually mature and play well, they don't. The one thing that Detroit has in their favor is being at home, and MAYBE the weak Baltimore o-line.
EDIT: So after the first half, it's 9-7, Baltimore. After Detroit's opening TD drive, they've looked awful. Bad passes, dropped passes and the D looks lost.

I am counting on a Baltimore victory. I am tied for first this week in my weekly pool, but I am the only one who took Baltimore. If the Lions win, I need a low scoring game.

Some eggs were certainly laid yesterday, but I certainly hope the Lions will not follow suit.
(Cue lions fans saying they will! )

Didn't watch the Giants game (thank god) I was out in Eagle country so we were able to watch them give up 48 without AP, but yeah looks like the game was as ugly as I could've imagined. 5 picks, 25 yard on 14 carries. As pathetic as that is...really can't say I'm surprised. Really really hoping the team cleans house..some tough moves are needed. I'm not even bummed about the loss, how can ya be? This was like a college team playing the Seahawks. IDK, Rutgers may have done a better job!!! Least the Cowboys blew a huge lead, thus continuing their woeful December play. I hear he threw a pick on their last 2 drives. While I give credit where it's due (Romo has been great recently and carrying the team) I will always take the chance to lol at his failure My boi Alex Smith throes 5 TDs Miami tops New England with game ending pick. Sounds like another wild weekend

Bottom line, the Lions hold their own fate. If they win out, they win the division and the remainder of the schedule is nothing but very winnable games for them. Unfortunately, their whole schedule was full of winnable games and yet they're sitting at 7-6, and now in second place in the North.
