I'd rather Alex work on a sequel to Victor than remix it...

It's good to hear that Alex will be thinking about starting to think about maybe possibly thinking about recording some new music for release....maybe .
TBH, I really think we will see him guest spot on other bands albums more than anything, as he is pretty adamant that future touring is not in his wheelhouse anymore. Also looking forward to him remixing and reissuing Victor. |

Haven't seen the Lifeson interview yet, but the Rolling Stone interview with Geddy Lee is a great read. Thanks for pointing us to it!

Thanks for posting! I saw that earlier...........Alex is such a cool guy and his playing is so melodic and tasteful. Very cool well played riffs, like Geddy said he had to come in and figure out how to add in his parts after Neil and Geddy built the rhythm section all the while not being bombastic and on top of every song as many guitarists feel they need to be. Plus every band has to have the token goof-ball/comedian.......

Yeah, Rick covers all sorts of topics. I was just watching one of his music theory videos. One of the best channels on YT, right there.

Wow, how did I miss this anniversary. Yesterday last year we lost the great Neil Peart. Crazy that it's been a whole year already. Wow.
Anyway, yeah big fan of Rick's videos. I just watched one he did on the cars "just what I needed." Of course he doesn't focus just on prog but it's good he does mention Yes, Rush, etc from time to time.

Yea as private as he was, he was in the "public eye" you can say as he walked around the beach community. Can you imagine the kids coming home and telling mommy and daddy that Olivia's dad read to the class....."How was your day dear?", "Great mommy, Olivia's dad read to us again!"...."Oh nice what did he read to you?", "He told us story about the Temples of Syrinx, Jacobs Ladder and Cygnus X-1 and this really neat place called Xanadu!" ..... |

What a trip to think Neil was walking the streets of Santa Monica as a commoner. He also volunteered at his kid's school's library.

I've played Moving Pictures already today. I'll be playing more Rush tonight. Simply one of the greatest musicians of all time.

Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

One year later.........Some details now coming out. Such a sad situation he could not spend all the time with his family that he yearned for.
"......Lee wasn’t surprised. “Knowing Neil the way I do,” he says, “and knowing that he knew how much time he had left, I think it was a natural thing for him to review the work of his life. And he was finding himself very proud of how he had spent a big chunk of his life. And he wanted to share that with Alex and I. Whenever we saw him, he wanted to talk about that. He wanted us to know that he was proud." Edited by Catcher10 - January 07 2021 at 14:11 |
