I am not of Finnish heritage, have any link with it in anyway, but I just love the place.
Nothing wrong with that indeed Thumbs Up It's a lovely sunny morning here in Helsinki, too bad I have to work today.

What made the whole thing even funnier is my one professor is strongly associated with Finland. He's not of Finnish descent but he was stationed there for 30 years working for the CIA and spent another 20 doing missionary work/just living there. So yea 50 years of his life, and he would tell stories of his time there and the people, so obviously I just loved it.

Also, he is fluent in Finnish, which I know is one of the toughest languages. He once said he recited the Kalevala in perfect finnish to a family and the mother broke into tears.

I'd love to go some day.

Cool Smile If you do some day and we're still around in the archives, let me know and I'll show you around a bit.

You have more faith than me in Romanians then.

Of course, if it's because we were under communist regim, I don't wanna hear about. Go visit Chișinău (if they'll let you pass the border).

No sir. I'm a critic of Ceaușescu as much as anybody else, and Romania's position under communism was worse than almost anybody's. You guys just have a cool culture and you've given us people like Tristan Tzara and Eugen Ionescu, among others.

Yeah, we were capable of great minds occasionally.
Should I know who you're talking about?

Must sleep sometime and I figure I've heard it once and left it on a loop setting or something, so I'm giving up on that one. Still, better than Tubular Bells. Tomorrow is another day to waste while thinking about how to write about subjects which I'm only interested in using as a metaphor. Think this River based poem is going in the hexametric skip.

I may have to get some Sennheiser sometime this week.

True. I'm Amaroking out and I swear this song is actually counting time in reverse or something. Every time I look at the timer it appears earlier on than before. Still, it's a good album.

I may have some old mobile 'phone headphones with a jackplug on but goodness knows where they are and if they still work... I think they might be in the car, which means they've been trampled on.

Mine have been like that for ages. To be fair, I have a good CD player, so currently not much of an issue.

Clap

Definitely try Organon's Klusterbuckstuckle.  It's also superb.

I barely know anything about my native country, other than the old wind-mills, a unique kind of cheese, free-drug use, "the red zone" and the tulips.
