Nice IPA, guys.  Citrus-ey, not too bitter, medium carbonation, easy down.

Does the Portland area specialize in IPA's...?

I've tried many different micro brew IPA;s over the last few years and they all seem too hoppy for me.....can you recommend one that's smooth and not sharp tasting?

Wow, that's really cool to have a nice place nearby that serves interesting beers along with good food.  We have some pretty uninspiring places nearby, but I can find decent beer selections if I drive a bit.  Usually though I just save the cash and buy good beer for home.

As we switch to warmer weather I'm going to be looking for some lighter beer.  Anyone have a suggestion for a lighter beer (with not too much carbonation) that still has worthwhile flavor?  I want to try some lighter beer but not crappy mega brewery beer.

It was very nice.  Maple was only subtle, didn't overwhelm at all.  I love every single DDC beer I've had so I might be biased, they are my 2nd favourite brewery after Mikkeller.

90% of the time I'm drinking at a local place called Cha Island, it's got a nice tropical/surf decor & only two staff both of whom are super cool.  They do sandwiches, waffles, their own tea blends, and have a great selection of beer that is always changing.  I've posted a couple pictures from there before like this one and this one

If you drink enough does the girl start to converse with you?

Where do you usually drink these exotics Colin....are you buying for home or do you have a cool pub that features all this stuff?

Nope....just wasn't drinking that evening.  I limit myself to one or two nights a week now....I'm old, rememberLOL

It's not too hard for me to moderate when it comes to beer.  Cigs were way harder to let go of.  That was a real bitch.  Don't ever smoke.  I still have cravings.
