English, David, studying books that are out of copyright is where it's at. Although the knowledge of Calculus is ALSO out of copyright so I don't see why it's so f**king expensive.

It's not exactly a movie designed to appeal to teenagers. |
lol The thing is her philosophy is for the most part "if the whole family can't watch it young and old it's not a perfect movie". Obviously Michael Clayton is not for the whole family yet she quite enjoyed it.

There's still plenty of time to buy them from Amazon, especially since Amazon is giving away a year of Prime membership for people with .edu email addresses.

I have not looked into my books at all. I start on the 23rd. Plus side, 100% music classes, and I got a $2,000 drum line scholarship (which I may not need) huzzzzzah. I have transfer student orientation tomorrow (f**k) immediately followed by 8 hours of work (whatthef**k).

Well yes, but that's more difficult when you're trying to order them 10 days before class starts. What's in the package that makes it cost more and be mandatory? I don't know, I guess I'm going to have to drive back out there tommorrow to find out since they CLOSE AT 3PM ON FRIDAYS YOU LAZY JERKS. And the Calculus book is actually more expensive on Amazon! |
I'm in a rut like you Henry... I have class in 12 days and haven't even looked at which ones I need to buy yet, though I know they'll be priced through the Goddam roof! Guys, I'm f**ked, to put it bluntly.

I hate buying textbooks, so I often don't buy the expensive ones. I make do with other means.

The subject is independently annoying and I have complained about it before. But when I'm already angry because of $150 Calculus textbooks and the games the bookstores play it gets out of hand. |
Yeah, I have to buy books for college very soon. I know from my brother's experience that they can be huge dickheads.

That's why I tend to order all my textbooks either online or at the used bookstore that's just off campus. I also sell my books back that way and get about half my money back as opposed to getting $10 for every $200 book I return to the campus bookstore.
