I'm very hopeful. After I heard about the new lineup I was waiting for a new albumTongue

But after I saw the new lineup live recently, I thought that it seemed more than temporary, and that they got along well and were great at playing together. They did a great job live, so I think the album will be pretty promising.Thumbs Up

I'll second that - a fine LP and amongst his best work.
You're taking me waaaay back.  I haven't heard Criminal Record in decades I think, a friend's record.  I did like it sort of, but I wonder if my more mature ears would like it more.  Or less.  I'll have to get it.

Why must my spell-checker continually underline the word "prog"?

Particularly the album Out There was really very good.

I love Wakemans solo discography. The 3 albums that you mentioned are incredible. I only own 2 others, but they are good as well. I think he has the best solo discography of all Yes members.

I only have the first 3, but they are among the best albums I own, anyday. Amazing stuff.

Well that was recorded on 8 track, so it was the worst recorded Genesis album in the first place.

Same here - Particularly Nursery Cryme IMHO.

Good work...

I'm thinking of a remaster of Selling England By The Pound... We've only got an original on CD, so that might work out well

For Father's Day last year I got my dad a Dream Theater shirt (in case you can't tell, he likes DT), and I got him two Yes albums remastered which I don't recall. I do know that most of his remastered CD Yes collection is on my behalf, however.

Hehe, yep... Thats what about 95% of presents for my Dad are... (Speaking of which, Father's Day in Australia soon... Need something big this year ... Last year, I got him Porcupine Tree - Stupid Dream, which in turn made me love them...)

I'm thinking A YES T-shirt from their site, but the only difficulty with that is having to wait every day to grab it and hide it when it arrives

Didn't end up getting Yesterdays, but instead, I bought...

- The mini LP gatefold, 2007 remaster of Close To The Edge (A gift back to my dad for the Marillion DVD's )
- A copy of the YesSongs DVD (He still never bought the CD, so I thought this might be a good place to start)

He loves them both

Is this worth a purchase?
They have this at a CD store near where I'm staying right now, nad I'm thinking of getting it...

Thanks

Well, that depends on your funds situation I guess.  As you can see from looking it up here at PA, it's songs from the first two records plus the America/Dear Father single.  I like the selections.  So it's worth it perhaps if you listen to "albums", otherwise you might have come by this material other ways.

Certainly worth it if it is cheaper for you buying this that the first two albums separately, and I also far prefer the Yes version of America to that of Mr Emerson & palsWink

If it's more expensive to buy the first two, than go with Yesterdays, but their debut album is INCREDIBLE late 60's psych/hard rock. Time And A Word isn't quite as good, but is still worth a look. Actually, just get both of them. After getting Yesterdays, I would bet money that you will get the first albums anyway.
