I feel bad because I'm such a Dave Stewart fanboy, but Playtime is just brimming with pwn.  Gowen is so incredibly awesome.

Because they haven't been mentioned in here for ages. LOL

Most non-Magma Zeuhl bands don't feature much in the way of fuzz bass.

Why are you recommending me Henry Cow like I haven't already listened to Henry Cow? Tongue

If you want fuzz bass though, try Henry Cow and some Hugh Hopper stuff too. Wink

There's a new band out called NEOM which might suit your tastes.  Their debut just came out on Soleil Zeuhl.

Otherwise, yeah start on the Jap stuff.  Try Amygdala.

Zao can be pretty boring.

Do you have Eskaton?  Dun?  Eider Stellaire's first?

Oh, it sounded Japanese to my ears. LOL

Eskaton - check. First album is the best, the others are pretty weak.

Dun - check.

Eider Stellaire - not.

Oooh, Koenjihyakkei ftw!

Also Korekyojinn and Ruins.  Although I fear Ruins will be too much for your ears to take. LOL

I've had both Weidorje and Paga before Magma, and I'm still a fan of the bass Zeuhl.

One Shot, gut!

Shall I move on to Japanese Zeuhl then? Zao, Kjoejensshai, etc.?

Zeuhl is pretty much just Magma.

That's if you want that type of Zeuhl.

You have Weidorje already, so I'm not sure what else to recommend for now.  If you want jazz rock/fusion Zeuhl, then go for One Shot.

I need some new Zeuhl recommendations, more than I do for RIO.

I'm down to two Magma records, then I only have an Univeria Zekt album, and that's it.

Nah, that'd be Scarsick.

Just wait for The Best of Times and Count of Tuscany. Wink

I've had to stop listening to it because something has come on the goggle box.  I'll continue with it later.

What is Volapuk and what disease does it cure?

The disease that gives you an insatiable appetite for highest quality chamber prog.

Must finish Art Zoyd first.

True.

I'm not sure late '80s and '90s Art Zoyd is quite worth your time as the classic late '70s and early '80s era though.

He especially needs Polyglot and the one they did after that with the female Japanese violinist. Big smile

Volapuk is actually a made-up language but the band don't use it. Wink
