I love Garden of Dreams. But I also like the song Stupid Girl off the 2nd disc. It's not very proggy but Roine's vocals in it are great.

I love it! Vertigo has become my favourite track quite quickly. I love the buildup of the instrumental section, and Roine's guitar solo there gives me goosebumps.

Waiting for Miracles is excellent, better than Desolation Rose in my opinion. I love the positive vibe.

My favorite tracks are Miracles for America (classic TFK), Vertigo (now something different) and Ascending to the Stars (written by the new keyboardist).

Second disc feels like a bonus disc with leftovers, though.

The music throughout is decent enough but not near the level of most of their earlier albums.  The most disappointing thing for me is that the intro piece on both discs is fabulous and could have easily been the start of a fabulous mini-epic.

I thought the same, those intros are great and have strong seeds, guess the water was running thin.

Overall it has grown on me the parts that did not connect at first. Flying home from a business trip had 3 hours of headphone time with it and that helped.

Best release since space revolver...and thats on first spin...it may be my new magic headphones but the guitar work by stolt is ridiculously good...no epic makes it even more remarkable...but the whole can be taken as an epic...I very rarely enjoyed a first spin as much....

After listening 4 full times, I like it better than the last two albums easily.  It doesn't really hold a candle to the 90's releases (or Unfold or Sum), but it's a pretty solid album for a band that's not getting any younger Wink (much like myself).

I was initially disappointed, but more listens helped me to appreciate it.  It's not really a "return to form" as it has been touted as, though listen carefully and there are certainly passages here and there reminiscent of the early albums (though no full songs that bring those to mind, IMO).  The new guys are excellent, especially Mirko who seems to liven up some otherwise lethargic sections.  Ascend to the Stars is my favorite, and it was written by the new young keys man, so that's a plus.  I felt like maybe Roine should have collaborated with him more and things could have been more interesting.  Also, I still feel like the production doesn't really bring out the rhythm section like I'd like, but otherwise is quite nice.

In any case, I'm more or less happy with it and it certainly makes me happier than the last two did (and I like both of those to varying degrees, though they are near the bottom of my TFK rankings).

Picked it up.

It's ok, not by any means bad. But it has yet to fully grab me.
