LOL
My sis is like that too. Everything has to be symmetrical, and if I, strictly by coincidenceTongue, nudge one of her paintings out of alignment, she goes absolutely mentalLOL

Anyway, back to the brewskis!!! I've never had a Herforder before Uwe. They look good though, but your country does have a knack for making excellent beers - Beck's and Warsteiner not included. I've got a lot of great memories from drinking Beck's at the Roskilde Festival and singing 'Skåne tilbage - Skåne tilbaaaaaaage!!! Vi vil ha' Skåååne tilbage!' from a shopping cart. Vi vil ha' Skåne tilbage means 'We want Scania back' - small joke on the Swedish guests, as Scania indeed was part of the Danish empire back before anyone was born. The Swedes there all thought it was pretty funny though, and I even had one guy up in the cart with me singing along. It wasn't down to the fantastic qualities of Beck's though....

Their 'Punk IPA' is a stunner, though
Not to mention : The End of History (55% ABV) - the beer formerly known as "the world's strongest beer". Only 12 bottles released and packaged inside stuffed squirrels and stoats

They have their own pub in Camden... perhaps a retired admin get-together?

^Add a little smoke to that whiskey and I'm thereBig smile
Islay single malt whiskeys are my preferred choice. Goes down like a treat with some cool beers (chicks) on the side.

Glenlivet is not really my kind of scotch... I prefer the stuff that tastes like dirt and moss

Bell's Oberon is one of my favorite 'summer beers'.
But I have never had any Glenlivet.....I really need to try a single malt scotch before I get much older.

Denmark is currently overflowing with micro breweries and alleged beer experts (who all seem horribly close to the kind of connoisseurs you come across in the wino world "Quel terroir n'est pas?!?!!"Ermm
do enjoy quite a few of these obscure beers, but when they suddenly are priced like were they filled with small diamonds, then my interest quickly wanes. Come on!! It's beer! Sure, we should strive for real beer with balls and 1000s of years of tradition....but when they start charging 100s of kroners for a regular pilsener, I'm out.
One of my favourite of the larger breweries in Denmark is called Hancock. Their 'Høker Bajer' (Merchant brewski) is a wonderful beer, and most places I've seen them sold, they're about a 10er each - hell sometimes they're even cheaperBig smile

Hancock's finest achievement though is their Christmas beer. My oh my!

The last thing I remember from that night is wrapping my jacket over my head in a bedouin like manner - chasing after my mates while screaming 'NI!'. Fun times.

Btw Jim, a cheap fix for a fresh and light beer is taking a slice of lime and stuffing it down a Spanish cervesa like Sol;) This is mainly what I drink if it's too hot for anything.

Yeah I'm def trying to switch to lighter fare for a while.  Had my fill of 12% "barleywine" ales until next winter....holy cow that was rich beer.
I have not tried Mikks David but I'll keep on the lookout.  My store has a pretty decent selection.

You are looking for some lighter beers eh Jim? Have you tried Mikkelers pilsners? I think they're called radio one and Vesterbro. They are really damn good in the summertime
