I regard Amused To Death as being the equal of any Floyd album. A work of utter genius, and I would like to think that Waters has one more in him. I also love the rather criminally under appreciated Radio Kaos.
As far as concept goes, I completley agree with you (and certainly, much better than any of the two Floyd albums without him), and many of the songs included are just as great as Pink Floyd at their top. However, it still has some rather weak songs I don't like so much that pulls it down a bit. I guess I might say I like it just about the same as "Broken China", perhaps a bit better, but I still like Division Bell better.
I am a big Floyd fan, so much so I don't think it's fair I get slack when I say Devision Bell is more 80's pop rock not as special as previous albums because Walters is missing, I say this because I really believe it to be true. I adore Gilmore and Richard even more so but honestly what I love the most of this album is the artwork (don't shoot me pls), this album is more 80's Duran Duran inclined to me. Ok don't shoot me, instead hug me pretty please? Please?
I agree
To be honest, I saw them twice on the Division Bell tour and it was fabulous. The albums without Waters though, were pale imitations at best, while still being a decent listen. My girlfriend loves all things Floyd, so I get to hear Division Bell and Momentary Lapse, and I have to say they are both better than most of what was "popular" at the times of their release.
To be fair to Gilmour and company, I don't find Waters' solo works to be much better. Waters doesn't seem to care for melody in his music.
I also say Waters' The Wall live a couple years ago, and it was great.......though I couldn't help but feel disappointment when the Comfortably Numb solo came around and it wasn't Gilmour playing it (the guy did a nearly flawless imitation.......but it was still just an imitation).
Infandous, we seem to be great insync yay I love you and your girlfriend too, 3some yay lol hahahaha I love to shock but seriously glad you understand what I mean tho'
Well, I'd be game, not sure the girlfriend is into that though
On Friday night, I sat in with a friend of mine who does acoustic shows in my area, on the Pink Floyd section of his performance. We did most of Dark Side, a chunk of The Wall, "Pigs", "Fearless", and "Coming Back to Life". All acoustic, mind you. It was good fun. I had never played (or learned) "Coming Back To Life" before, but like all Floyd tunes, it was very easy to pick up and play along to, even with the pressure of an expectant audience.

I'm also a fan of Radio Kaos. And AMLOR. I find it rather funny that both David and Roger released a rather poppy, 80s sounding album each, the same year, and that Roger had the stomach to criticize David's.

I actually thought Roger looks a little these days like an aging Richard Gere (or did a couple of years back)lol!
At least the lucky bugger still has his hair, something I'm slowly losing a battle with!
Definately Gilmour's voice has held up better than Roger's, even on `Amused To Death', as much as I love the album, his voice was pretty croaky in a few spots! It still had a ton of character, though.
Yep I have to agree Gilmor was the hottest looking now Richard Gere lookalike is hotter

Also I get a lot of slack when I mention that Roger Walters aged better than Gilmour (which was quite the opposite when they were a tad younger, but who cares anyway they both still look damn hot except Roger aged better)
Unfortunately his voice did not . Gilmour sings way better on recent releases.
I have to agree here with you Mr. fab Thanksgiving looking

Rick Wright was indeed working on an album that was to be completely instrumental but after the On an Island tour him and David started to work together to see what they could come up with. Don't know if you've seen this interview Sadly, it wasn't to be, but now it's rumoured that Gilmour is actually recording. Weather he'll release anything are still to be seen though.
This sounds a tiny bit more promising than what I had read back then.
