That 2-for-1 thing is in fact Triskaidekaphobie and Le Poison Qui Rend Fou (their first two albums) on one CD, AKA two bloddy brilliant albums for the price of oneThumbs%20Up

Definitely worth it, especially for 5 bucks! Tongue

Well, I have Triskaedekaphobie (wow I totally just spelled that from memory) and love it, so maybe investing in another one is a good choice.

I have his 1984 album (can't remember it's name) and it's excellent, Zappa/Thinking Plague-ish, definitely worthy in the ZARchivesTongue

Their debut is absolutely outstanding, a must.

I know you weren't crazy on Zao but I have to stress their live album again.  It absolutely blows the studio releases out of the water for its sheer energy and musicianship.

You'll love Ruins too, it's insane.

I'll come back to Zao when I'm in the mood for it, I expect. Smile

Meanwhile, here's what I've ordered this evening:

Weidorje
Marcoeur, first 2 albums
Area, 'Are(a)zione'
Happy Family, 'Toscco'
Thollot, 'Contact'

Big%20smile Ooh, packages to look forward to! LOL

That should be a fair compromise. But only if I can use ostrich eggs.

I might wait a bit re. Koenji - see below!  Damn, too many things to get! Confused

lol - really! They were the 1st thing I heard after I freaked over Magma..

Haha, music that freakifies = Thumbs%20Up  Other way round for me.  I heard that Koenji piece, fell off my chair laughing (in a good way! Tongue), realised there was a Magma connection (had heard of them years before but never listened), and 24 hours later my brain was saturated with MDK love. Embarrassed Heart

Got all 3 and am adoring them muchly myself! Clap  Area now holds the (coveted?) no. 2 spot in my recent most listened artists. Big%20smile

Ah, well they are the 3 best. Have you checked out Gnosis? It's a great way to make decisions. Search the DB and put in a few of your fave titles, and see what raters give them high marks to check out taste that may be sympathetic with yours. Then type in the title[s!] you're curious about, and see what someone whose taste jives w/ you thinks...

Sounds helpful, I'll give it a go! Smile

Dün = Heart.  Hmm, I would love to hear 4 Visions of course, but where's the fun in glibly passing mp3s around?!  I'll have to go on one of my little quests for a 2nd hand copy. Smile

Well, good luck! It's very hard to find [took me almost 2 years!] Their other titles are very good too - they're in print.

Have you heard Eider Stellaire? Classics of the genre. They were only released as lps long ago, so pretty impossible to get for less than $100.+, but you should really hear them - they are easily available on blogs all over.

It's all on the List... Big%20smile

Tosco is very intense - sounds to me like it might be right up your alley, as it were....; )

Haha, you are very perceptive.  Anything really sulky sounding with 'too many notes' is fine by me! Tongue

Think it was I who turned many list folks onto Francois..They are both really good, but Contact by far the better of the two.

Just ordered it. Big%20smile

I thought so... LOL  Maybe I'll save all this for the forthcoming Yoshida-related shopping spree that I know is in the offing at some point...

What fun that will be! O my dear, if you haven't any yet, you NEED some Ruins! Their latter work much more zeuhl influenced, the earlier rather noise and hardcore-ish. I like Vrresto and Tzomborgha the best.

When the moment comes, I'll make a specific thread and you can bombard me with recommendations!  Gotta say, noise/hardcore doesn't sound very me, so I'll bear this in mind! Wink

I've heard that name and I think I heard some samples that I liked.  Ooh, 'Contact' is on special at Wayside... could be a contender!  Although maybe I should go for 'Toscco' as recommended by Cleo... Confused

Interesting, it was my least favorite [although I haven't listened in a while...] i will have to give it another listen after i move [thousands packed away...

For me Nivraym is only just behind Angherr Shisspa, but all the albums are essential. It's amazing how Yoshida can be so prolific and maintain such incredibly high standards.

It is indeed very good and I'd say the same thing. ClapClapClap

Koenji is easily my second favorite Zeuhl band, and one of my favorites in RIO/Avant/Zeuhl combined. Whether I prefer them or Samla Mammas Manna though... that's hard.

Well, I'd have to agree. Clap Heart Clap

The first track on 'Angherr Shisspa' is what started me off on my current wild, weird and wonderful musical explorations. Big%20smile  Hehe, if I'm annoying you with my ramblings on here, I guess you can go ahead and blame Koenjihyakkei. LOL
