Hey Tom, indeed epic VdGG track.

Both Keiko and Kyoko are Heart

Saw Ars Nova in pub basement in London in early 2000's, hardly anyone there, superb show. Was at same venue week before seing Vanilla Fudge, and at the end of the show announcer said come back next week to see a Japanese group who look like porn stars and sound like ELP. Intriuged by this sexist comment went back and they were fabulous.

Well, in another thread I said The Beatles of Prog were The Beatles, so using the same logic, the Queen of Prog would be Queen.
Bigger on the inside.

I'd go for Keiko Kumagai from Ars Nova.

Did one of you ever listen to this beastly woman? This band is yet to be added to progarchives.

I'd go for Annie H over Kate Bush any day. But for me, there's been no female vocalist that tops Christina Booth. A true Prog-Goddess
.........but I could always admit Dagmar Krause is the Princess without question .......

Annnie Haslam although Kate is indeed a candidate. Not sure there are that many though.

Not wanting to sound anti-feminist, but I don't think there is a women performer with a sufficient contribution to the genre to warrant a "queen of prog" title.

Well, I do not know exactly who is the queen of classic prog (Anny Haslam or Jerney Kaagman or Kate Bush), but I'm pretty sure who is the princess of contemporary prog - with her outworldly & charismatic voice, certainly that's Marjana from iamthemorning.

I'm not sure I dislike any woman enough to call her that.
