Isn't The Stone such a f**king awesome place? It was too far for me to make it just for Kayo Dot, but if I lived close to NYC I would go there all the time.

it really was, I wasn't expecting it to be so small...and given the price and my proximity, I should check stuff out there more often

The Six Parts Seven are cleared for addition already, you may write the bio and add the albums if you wish Smile..  There are plenty bands, that are cleared for addition to be added..

and you are welcome to join the team Smile

You must live in Canada... lucky b*****d! (on both accounts) So much amazing Indie music always coming out of Canada.    Well, atleast, "Red Sparowes" will be coming my way in April.

I do live in Québec. We have the best music WinkTongue
I might see Silver Mt. Zio soon, too.

Sweet. Yet another band i'd never heard about before.

Nah, it certainly belongs here Big smile  The greatest thing about this thread is that we've got some super open minded individuals lurking about in here.  Anyways, with that aside, this band is pretty damn neat. It reminds me of the band "Grails", but mixed with sludgy drone tempos. The more i listen to it, the more i'm diggin' it.

Anyways, a little contribution from me, that i think all my peeps in this thread might dig: (their new LP is my fav. release so far this year, after the new Jaga)

I can't vouch for their old stuff, but check out the compositions "Familiarity" and "Sadatephobia"

I'd describe it as math rock style dynamic polyrhythyms played with acoustic guitars, employing the lush tones that one might hear from Agalloch. (kick ass, yes, i know)  It can get kinda jazzy/free-form sometimes which may turn some people off, but it's worth it to hang in there for the genuine composing imo.
i have just finished listening Immeasurable, their full lenght. It is very good release, some hints of post rock for sure here. it is progressive by all means, and some jazzy parts also..

'Bout time! Aphorisms was a nice change of pace for their slightly boring albums, but I wasnt expecting to wait another two years before the album those songs were supposed to be on.

Wtf?!  Why hasn't anyone posted this yet:

Quote Los Angeles quintet Red Sparowes offers a preview of song snippets from its forthcoming epic, heavy and sprawling third album in a video trailer posted. The disc, titled The Fear Is Excruciating, But Therein Lies The Answer will be released via Sargent House on April 6th, 2010.

Sounds f'n beautiful.

Well, i just finished listening to the new "These Monsters..." album. So... this band has released some of the most genuine and beautiful "post-rock" i've ever heard in my life; getting better with and better with every release, then, they release their first true album, and it's a punk record. I'm feeling a bit crushed about now.
