Technical solution, there isn't one. We just hope there will be no voting abuse. Don't worry about it. Follow the comments. I will listen some more and vote later.

Well, so far only two people have voted. They mentioned that in the thread and I checked the table. One of them wrote only his first choice and I sent him a pm and asked him to specify. But I can't have an eye on that table constantly. That's why I'm trying to find a technical solution if there is one. Edited by Mila-13 - February 08 2022 at 06:50 |

What I was wondering is whether there is a way, technically to block the use of the voting table? That is, can I as the conducter of a poll exclude others from using the voting table? I would prefer if people would post their votes in the thread and I would vote for them, use the survey table alone. Edited by Mila-13 - February 08 2022 at 06:36 |

I can confirm that there has been no IPoll on the topic: songs with solos of a musical instrument.

how do you see who voted for what unless they post a comment telling what they voted for?

I've got to say that starting on Friday isn't really optimal for me as it means that suggestions come in Friday and Saturday and often also later, some listening time also goes into choosing my own suggestions, so the first weekend doesn't really give full time for listening to the suggestions. Sticking to a two week rhythm, for me it'd be better to start somewhere between Monday and Wednesday. I also welcome every "delay" as I have lots of stuff to do and the two weeks rhythm often feels too fast for me (I was away last weekend and there's much on the two weekends around it, which leaves me with hardly any time for some polls, and such things happen fairly regularly). This has been discussed before and there seems to be a tendency to either prefer a fast rhythm or to stop participating at all (or at least abstain for some polls), but I belong to neither of these groups. Not sure whether going slower would encourage more participation; I could imagine that.

Hey guys, I have a question regarding the poll voting tables. People make mistakes sometimes and as it seems there are also people who don't participate in a poll but still vote. I'm not talking about regulars. Is it possible to reserve the possibility to use that table to the person who conducts that poll? Currently two people have voted. One of them voted 4 times, the other one voted for his own entry. lol I mean, not that results really matter but still. Edited by Mila-13 - February 08 2022 at 05:33 |

Lorenzo's Listings of Previous Polls:
They are lengthy, with stats (and a great idea!), so I am just going to let you know what pages they're on in this thread: Pages 29, 32 & 33

^ I agree. Given that we may do this for eternity, and the topics virtually aren't infinite.
Though, it would always be good to know the previous topics, at least for me. I'll check the previous pages for that. IMHO, mentioning the topics we're thinking of, and asking for feedback here is also cool. So that, one wouldn't come up with a topic that was just before used. Related, to my above, but to everyone:
I don't think we have any rule of a topic never been used before, to be eligible. We do have some newer participants. Also, for some topics, some people may have wished to share more than 3 (which is usual, and some went over anyway, if it was a stipulation, no one has yet been much of rules police if that has happened, which is a good thing, in my book). While I'm at it, I don't think there's any rule (other than some personal ones) of not being able to bring something more than once to a poll, again there are so many, and a fair number of newer participants. If you love it and it fits and you want to bring it to attention again, I don't think anyone will mind, at least I know I wouldn't. Please let me know if there is contrary info to those rules. I do miss things from time to time.

I think mid-week this week would be good, or by Friday, so we can then have 2 full weekends for listening. Make final choices by the Friday preceding 2nd weekend and open the poll for voting when they're all in and you've populated the poll grid.
I don't think solo instruments have been a topic, yet, although some solo instruments have been featured. I think Lorenzo has a complete list of the topics, which I believe is somewhere back in this thread. |

Cool! We PM'd with Greg (Logan) recently, so I was guessing that he wouldn't join in the near future. But I'm sure he'll come back. So, what is the due date for the next/my poll? Also, I'll not rely on my memory and knowledge as you know I've been "out" for quite some time. Was "solo instruments" chosen in the earlier polls? If yes, I'll think of another. ^ Thanks Lorenzo. I'll create my poll, as I stated. And will most probably participate to the ones that will follow. This is a great gathering and a fun activity, frankly.

I heard from Logan (Greg) and he's advised that he's too busy to commit right now to conducting a poll, although he does plan to return again, when he can.
You're it, Özgür! Looking forward to what you'll bring.
