What Allan Holdsworth plays on guitar is just simplistic, rudimentary scales anyone can play.

"Mozart's music is so impure and ugly that I see it as a reflection of the inner ugliness of the universe itself."  Albert Einstein

Yes, this is exactly what he said!

Stop asking Steven Wilson to remaster old classic prog records. Hire Dr. Dre instead.

Iron Maiden is not even heavy metal. It's barely hard rock.

If we have a "Kraut-Rock" section, could we have a "Racial Slur-Rock" section?

Whoever composed the "Too Many Cooks" theme music should be added to progarchives.com.

You need to be on drugs or heavily drunken to enjoy the Beatles' "I Wanna Hold Your Hand".

To really experience Prog music at its best, you must listen it on TAPES.

Klaus Schulze should do the music for Dragon Ball.

Jeff Lynne was the best drummer I ever heard, especially his performance on Deep Purple's The House of Blue Light, smack in the middle of the most amazing decade of music ever, the glorious 1980s. Still, it's hard to compare it with Van der Graaf Generator's performance on the Xanadu soundtrack or the Bee Gees' Invisible Touch album featuring the great Mike Rutherford on lead vocals. Things have really gone downhill since then.

ELP would have been a great band in the 80's: they would have replaced Palmer by a beatbox and there would have been no drum solo at their concerts!

The Carpenters were the best progressive rock act of the 70's.

I came to this thread expecting jokes and hyperbole. But all these opinions are accurate as far as I can tell.
