BOREALIS A Newfoundland band with an album that'll leave you feeling all aglow, Sons of the Sea has the distinction of being the first album of all-original material recorded in the Atlantic Provinces of Canada, and with only 500 vinyl copies pressed, this ultra-rare album now sells for up to $750, but it's absolutely free to listen to right here on PA, as always.

BOLD Massachusetts band Bold can't promise to leave your "whites looking whiter than white", but they could boldly promise a good time at the Playboy Club in the Big Apple where they played seven nights a week. 1969: Bold - Bold - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KV_puJJl_Ok Edited by Psychedelic Paul - February 04 2024 at 05:54 |

BOKAJ RETSIEM Quite simply one of the best psychedelic bands there's ever been, or ever will be, not just in Germany, but the entire world! And if you're wondering what on earth Bokaj Retsiem means, then try reading it backwards. Still none the wiser? Frere Jacques - a traditional French children's song. 1968: Bokaj Retsiem - Psychedelic Underground - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMoa35sUXAc So Bad (but really so good). Don't let me be misunderstood, but you may recognise this song, even if you've never heard it before. |

BOHEMIAN VENDETTA Is this the real life, or is it just fantasy? No, it's Bohemian Vendetta, a Psychedelic Rock band from Long Island, New York, with a tripped-out version of The Stones (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, only without the rubber lips. |

BODO MOLITOR Hola amigos! Bodo Molitor was a German-born Mexican musician with a psychedelic album jam-packed full of international hits, featuring fuzzy guitars, a whirling Farfisa organ and gravelly vocals, and including cover versions of great songs by The Doors, The Beatles, Nina Simone, Wilson Pickett and a fair sprinkling of original compositions too. In other words, everything you could wish for and more besides in the best of the late 1960's flower-power era. Adios. 1969: Bodo Molitor - Hits Internacionales - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSOtTzb5oIM Edited by Psychedelic Paul - January 31 2024 at 09:27 |

BOB SMITH Why not take a trip down the Pacific Coast Highway with Bob Smith. This tripped-out masterpiece of West Coast psychedelia is one Visit you won't want to miss out on. It's a gloriously warm and sunny album of sun, sand, sea and surf. Just try not to get any sand in your Bermuda shorts. 1970: Bob Smith - The Visit - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIrPa9cvlCo |

BO GRUMPUS A tour-de-force of Psychedelic Rock from Boston-based band Bo Grumpus, whose one and only album was produced by none other than Felix Pappalardi of Mountain, a Hard Rock band whom you may recall also featured man-mountain Leslie West. BAKERLOO Emerging from the London Underground comes psychedelic blues-rock band Bakerloo, originally known as The Bakerloo Blues Line. You may not remember Bakerloo - after all, they only stuck around long enough to record one self-titled album - but the band included notable future members of Colosseum, Family, Humble Pie, May Blitz, Graham Bond's band, Vinegar Joe, Judas Priest and Uriah Heep, reading like a veritable Who's Who of early British Rock. 1969: Bakerloo - Bakerloo - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDF86GZ-MkA

BLUES CREATION Konichiwa! Prepare for a storming banzai blitz of fire and fury over Tokyo with Kazuo Takeda and Blues Creation. The band name was shortened to Creation from 1975 onwards when they were joined by Felix Pappalardi of Mountain, who was destined for a tragic end years later when he was shot dead by his wife in 1983. 1969: Blues Creation - Blues Creation - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2AjeDh2SIk&t=123s 1971: Blues Creation - Rolling Stone Live - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSsDnd56pT4&t=9s 1971: Blues Creation - Carmen Maki Blues Creation - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHUq9LAmmDo 1971: Blues Creation - Demon & Eleven Children - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDt4DCRMdec Edited by Psychedelic Paul - January 28 2024 at 07:01 |

BLUE PHANTOM Magnifico! Blazing a trail through Italy in the style of Iron Butterfly, the astounding sounds and amazing music of Blue Phantom have the Unconscious Power to enthral and delight the listener with the ultimate Soul Experience. Blue Phantom are quite simply the best Italian psych band on the World Wide Web - and that's the truth with no Distortions or alternative facts. In-a-Gadda-da-Vida, indeed! BLUE MOUNTAIN EAGLE A Country-tinged, Psychedelic Rock band that sprang up from the remains of the New Buffalo Springfield formed by drummer Dewey Martin, who were flying high for a brief time, supporting Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Love and Pink Floyd amongst others, but then had their wings clipped by Atlantic Records when their single and album failed to take off. 1970: Blue Mountain Eagle - Blue Mountain Eagle - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HrR6-hX44U |

BLONDE ON BLONDE A Psychedelic Rock band from Newport in South Wales where - not entirely by coincidence - Bob Dylan controversially "went electric" at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965 and, as any Dylan fan will know, Blonde on Blonde was also the title of Bob Dylan's 1966 album, released after he shook the folk world to its very foundations the previous year. 1969: Blonde on Blonde - Contrasts - http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mG5ZAPS6ihy3rctL7bcUh32n59siWMGKo 1970: Blonde on Blonde - Rebirth - http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kdh170UIag37jECTSk7rJwiBEh1rfdSqA 1971: Blonde on Blonde - Reflections on a Life - http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_nDg4NGu8575Xic9fv8np_tLx1ifK6tsog |

BLACKFOOT Not to be confused with the Southern Rock band of the same name, Blackfoot are quite possibly the only Psychedelic Rock band ever to emerge from Zambia, back when Africa and Live Aid was still just a twinkling in Bob Geldof's eye. 1975: Blackfoot - Youth Power - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A14_hfnWtAk 1978: Blackfoot - The Footsteps - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gH9tFZtytKo |

BLACK PEARL The mother of all Funk Rock bands from San Francisco with a "sex machine" singer who modelled himself on James Brown. Black Pearl were once described as a band who "crank out some hard rockin' psych-rock music with the most ferocious drumbeats you've heard in a while", and having just listened to their two albums of pounding, pulsating rhythms, who am I to disagree!? 1969: Black Pearl - Black Pearl - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0SsmoqCLrI 1970: Black Pearl - Live! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJDEgCRp_qo |
