Monograph are an absolutely killer somewhat mathy post-rock band. Another PA poster recommended them to me a while ago, can't remember who though. Killer EP, 5/5 in my books. Recommended for fans of American Football.

The Monroe Transfer is truthfully one of the best post rock acts out there right now, they are highly recommended.
Luger is a great psych band yet very accessible, I think, so try them out.
And The Resonance Association (I think I showed you guys that one ) is incredible with every release. The guys really know how to create atmospheric music reminiscent of a modern Pink Floyd almost.

Bandcamp is FAR better than the crappy myspace. I wish more bands use BC from now.
My recommendations: http://labirinto.bandcamp.com/ http://alotlikebirds.bandcamp.com/ (not on PA...yet!) http://atornmind.bandcamp.com/ I also recommend this thread: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=70344&PN=1 Lots of bandcamp links, with a plus: all free releases! |

A few other I've remembered...
Vialka - La Poursuite de l'Excellence These guys are here under RIO/Avant, I shared this album with a few other members but they didn't like the vocals. Vocals didn't bother me, I actually liked this one a fair bit. Perhaps Contraption - Sludge and Tripe Another RIO/Avant band on PA 54-40 - Lost In The City Gotcha! These guys are pop/rock but pretty good.

Bumping this thread because it seems that bandcamp has been growing and growing in popularity since. I think I've listened to almost 10 new albums via bandcamp this past week; if people post them it's so easy just to hit play.
A few I ran across just today: |
