Does Peckerman want to lose the game?
What the hell is Guarín doing?
You never change a team that is winning.

What?
Robben is by far the best player of the cup, without him Netherlands wouldn't had reached this stage
Yes he falls as soon as he's touched, but so all the players in the world, the difference is that the we Latin Americans are better actors, but he's a clean player, you never see him doing criminal fouls as most Uruguayans, Argentineans and overall Neymar (the dirtiest player in the tournament).
My guesses:
1.- Brazil 1 - Colombia 3 2.- France 2 - Germany 2 (Penalties Germany wins) 3.- Netherlands 4 - Costa Rica 1 4.- Argentina 1 - Belgium 1 (Penalties Belgium) |
Thanks for defending Robben. I don't understand all the resentment towards him, to be honest. I hope you're right, as far as Netherlands and Belgium go. I also think you're right, that Netherlands will win with some distance from Costa Rica, and that Argentina-Belgium will be a close call. I'm hoping for a Netherlands-Belgium semi-final, but because I'm a Dutchman living in Belgium, that's no wonder.

Colombia vs Brazil, that should be a barn-burner!

Sleep-inducing. Quite the opposite from Zidane in the field.

^ the 2nd Ann Coulter 'soccer' piece. The problem that any self-styled polemicist has if they have no inclination to treat their audience as partners in uncovering a truth, is that they just come across as a terminally narcissistic bigot. For the faux polemicist like Coulter, the best game in town is the act of painting her adversary as being hopelessly and utterly 'wrong' - there are never any reasoned objections or counter arguments provided, just plain vanilla ridicule, name-calling, mickey taking and disingenuous contempt. There are polemicists out there who do use this argumentative approach to positive effect but such are few and very far between in 2014. The last great polemical thinker I can cite was probably the late Bill Hicks.

Well said Ivan (as far as Robben goes).
I hope you are wrong on the last result. All the other ones I would glady see.

Anyway, no bloody football ! Again! What am I going to do? Roll on Friday 5pm (UK Time) and the Frogs Vs The Germans should be interesting and I can't call it!
