The difference is stunning.  And my point of reference has been a deluxe German vinyl pressing that was the best at the time.

I'll probably spring for Lark's Tongues and Starless when they are done, but I'm resisting the entire catalogue.  First, I never owned them on vinyl (at least, I did once and gave them away because I'm rather indifferent to those albums) and second, I just can't spend the bucks all that wildly.

Who's going to the RAH next week then? Anyone without a ticket should be aware that a load more have just been made available. Go to the official RAH site to purchase. Oh and I fully expect a MASSIVE in-depth review (please) LOL.

It's my Birthday Tuesday, and I am away in Ireland unfortunatley (booked before the gig was announced).

Wow man, fantastic. Thanks for sharing!
That's how I remember PT when I first saw them performing around the corner where I live... back in 1996, at Utrecht's Tivoli-venue, where I was entirely *blown away* by them.  Clap

BTW, I don't know if these have been posted over here before (sorry, no time to check out all of 43 pages!)but apparently, Steven has been doing some 'Dump-That-Stuff-On-The-Net' lately:

A new song, due for his upcoming solo-album?

and here we have some very experimental, drone-y, psychedelic 'soundscapes' -http://soundcloud.com/steven-wilson/tracks  "Tape Experiments 1985-1986", which he apparently put together when he was still a little puppy. Nice to hear a lot of rough early material that very much resembles his later Bass Communion-work.
For those of you who are in need of some Musical Rohypnol, LOL. Enjoy! Smile

Thumbs Up LOL - well I'm surely looking forward to the next offspring result of their marriage collaboration!

That's good news! I purchased Songs for Ships and Irons the other day... it's wonderful.

Did you buy parts 1 and 2?

Yup, didn't see the point in getting 1/2 of a double album
It's annoying that they split them up on iTunes though, I ended up spending twice as much as I was expecting to Still worth it, though.
