Reading some interesting stuff about the match... This is I think the first match at the World Cup when Xavi was finally in full shape. He made 92 correct passes out of 106, that's 86% accuracy! (Mesut Ozil played 30 good passes out of 47.) Also, to my naked eye it seemed like it was the first time in this World Cup that the Spanish did advanced pressing, trying to regain the ball in the opponent's field. And that's what prevented the Germans to play their offensive game from the previous matches. Just look at the number of shots (on target or not) by the Germans during this tournament: 16 with Australia, 15 with Serbia, 13 with Ghana, 17 with England, 18 with Argentina, 5 with Spain!

Ah, but the Dutch team of the 1970s was a big team. I think it's good to have a new winner for a change. |
I know, they were way better than this ugly team that can be THE team remembered on history... That is what I dislike... but well... I'm more interested in see if Klose still can beat Ronaldo's record of goals in WC. The game of saturday will be more interesting than the cup final...

A deserved victory without a doubt, Spain played their best match of the World Cup in the right moment.

Yeah, hope so, but indeed Spain played very well today.
I'll be cheering for The Netherlands here! With the t-shirt and all!

YES!!! Finally, there was a team who wanted to play football against Spain, not to defend desperately and hope to strike on a counterattack. And they left Spain to play. Very bad decision for Germany... But now everybody could see why we love the Spanish team so much. They are the Brazilians of out times. I am now hoping for a great and memorable finale to this World Cup

Really don't mind if you sit this one out.
My words but a whisper, your deafness a shout.

Awful, awful, awful game. I almost got up and left (and should have; I have work to get done). Looked like a Pee-Wee soccer game.
Grats to Spain, though.
