Since we can nominate artists who are on PA, I'll go with New Trolls' "Black Hand".

^That was a definite after school favorite of mine growing up. I'll add the Ramones's cover of the Spider-Man theme.

Completed my 'first impressions' post on page 4.

Regarding Meltdowner's pick, and my comment about Spider-man here's the little video (this thread could not be complete without this iconic and superb music intro, I think Tongue):

So I guess it's about time to name which posting we are going to put up for the vote.  I really feel strongly about the "Boardwalk Empire" theme, one that I always thought captured the essence of the series yet is also an intriguing track, so after much deliberation, that is the one I'll put up for voting.  I'll put up one of those fancy little exclamation marks next to the original posting.

Vids gone for space....or is that gone to space? Wink  These are thinking on your last group.

Land of the Giants…I remember watching (and enjoying) the show, did not remember the theme music, however.  More very 60’s theme music.  Tour of Duty, this, I very much enjoyed.  Had never heard it, very contemplative.  Airwolf, very 80’s sound to it.  Bewitched…of course I remember this one, was also a fave of mine as a child.  I still refer to Mrs. Kravitz and Aunt Clara.  😊  Also of course, the Flintstones.  We watched it, but it was not a top show for me, I was more of a Jetsons fan (of the same cartoon creators).  The theme music is very iconic, however (as was The Jetsons) and very 60’s.

You somehow made me remember this one, that I used to absolutely love. Heart

This time, a beautiful ending..  'Tour of Duty':

(Don't remember if it was always so, but the video starts with the sound of a shot, (this was the better sounding I found), so if you wanna skip it, go here instead).

Someone once lent me an electro-acoustic guitar, with an amp that had a chorus effect; one of the first things I tried to play was this. Not exactly, but it sounded beautifully!

Like 'em both.  Tongue

Lost in Space..  never really a fan (maybe too young?), but I remember having seen it set on the TV at my grandparents' living room, (that was where we were on weekends). And..  good music!  ..and intro.

It made me remember this one:

St. Elsewhere, love the 80's sound!  Clap  (and the haircuts, soberness, etc.)  don't think that I ever saw it; though I remember here it aired on weekends, in the afternoon, a series about hospitals that was similar, though don't think it is the same. I was too young to be interested in that kind at the time (no cartoons LOL ..and hospitals!).  It brought me memories..  on weekends we were at my grandparents', they had a house on a large terrain (still there) near the Mountains (Santiago is also at the mountains's feet), so after lunch, when the TV was dull (for kids) you could always go play outside with the cousins  Big smile.

Thank you for your comments

I would have thought you would be at home with that bit from He-Man  LOL  (because of the 'metal team' part in your profile; though, I know, not necessarily). I like some dark stuff but definitely not all, and it has to be sort of sci-fi -ish also for me to like it. Funnily, I've never been into metal though, not even prog metal.. (though I like a few things). In the case of He-Man there were many other themes during the chapters also and obviously not all were dark (and the one I posted, "Snake Mountain", was only an extract what played while one watched the show and the camera focused on that perspective of the Snake M.). But I love it..  Anyway, I don't believe I'll nominate it, in part for being sparse, incidental, etc., and I think, considering your comment and that of Snicolette, maybe Band of Brothers would be a better option.

Video removed for space.

Boss, definitely got the sinister thing going on there, almost an effect as though you’re missing pieces of conversation, like someone is perhaps trying to eavesdrop on whatever the boss is saying.  There should be no stress for people to listen, I think once voting is open, the poll is open and commenting is fine before or after.

They were definitely going for a "groovy," kind of sound, not quite like the real psych but the poppy psych feeling.

Scooby Doo really fun, we even enjoyed watching that one as teenagers.  Their theme song was kind of like a lot of cartoon theme songs of the day, kind of Monkees-ish.  Night of the Witch Switch was cute, kind of a trying to be metal-ish song.

Videos...one...two...   Lost in Space “Danger, Will Robinson!!!”  Loved that show and did consider doing this one.  😊  St Elsewhere, loved that show and watched it pretty religiously.  Thanks for the reminder.  😊

Beginning where I left off ....

Rushfan – Big Band Theory – I never really watched this series that much, but I wasn’t aware that Bare Naked Ladies sung the theme.  It’s funny, as some of there music is, and I have many favorites from them, but others I don’t like as much.  This was a good one.  Mike Post-Home Improvement – Watched this one a bit more back in the day, but the music never really seemed to stand out which was strange for a Mike Post composition.

Logan – It seems you always have interesting and intriguing music that I find enjoyable.  No exception with Chocky’s Theme which has an intriguing atmospheric and spacious feel to it.  The Utopia Theme I find as excellent as the original Utopia track you posted, I really like that music a lot and this one even manages to throw in a reggae vibe as well.  Blackadder is hilarious and satirical and so is Toast of London, which I found humorous (love the black humor as it effectively speaks of society).

Lewian – I was finally able to hear this with Logan’s repost.  Rote Erde has a nice European vibe to it and I’m always a sucker for that sound.  I really like how it turns quite uneasy in the last section of the track.

Machinemessiah – Wow a lot of posts here.  All three of the first songs were nice, bright and cheerful especially with the Robotech theme which effectively plays off the pomp of Star Wars and other space oriented theme music.  However, Band of Brothers is a sentimental favorite of mine, I absolutely love that series and the music for it is perfect, heroic, yet not over indulgent.  Lancelot Link for me was a forgotten gem and thanks for the reminder.  “Sankuokai” is a lot of fun, it’s not familiar to me, but it’s still cool.  The He-man theme is definitely sparse and scary.

Meltdowner – “Cowboy Bebop” – For me, this track is excellent and a definite favorite.  I love the retro spy sound with the cool jazz hooks.  The David Sylvian track is also lovely and emotional.  Nice contrast between the two tracks.

Gentle & Giant – I consider the music from The Leftovers, especially the theme that comes from this suite, to be some of the most lovely and heartwrenching music for TV in modern history.  Definitely the best of the decade, as you say.  Amazing series and amazing music.

Cristi – Riz Ortolani “La Pavra”.  Very nice music, melancholic, yet suspenseful.

Raff – New Trolls “Black Hand”  I am quite familiar with the band’s musical output from the time this was put out, but I don’t know this one.  I always loved their over-the-top harmonies that weren’t quite as kooky as Queen’s but very similar to Sweet’s (did you ever hear their cover of “Let It Be Me” or their song “Bella Come Mai”?).  I also love the Italian campiness of “Sandokan” and the use of African rhythms in “la Schiva Isaura”

Mathman – I had no idea that Patrick Carney did the Bojack Horseman theme.  Nice expansive vibe for a less-than-legendary character.  Also, there is some great sax work in there.  I would never guess that there is a Black Keys relationship there.

Band of Brothers is a TV series Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg made (I think) with all the material they got and maybe did not use for the film 'Saving Private Ryan'..  is a TV series, each episode at the beginning has interviews with the veterans from the same and legendary 'Easy Company' whose track the series depict.

Sankuokai, yeah! it was funny to watch.. it got the space thing (love that sort of stop-motion animation) and the martial arts.. plus very dark bad guys..  we went nuts with that! I wonder, the cartoons we as a generation got to see were pretty special.. some were very sci-fi ish and I think with good music and all..  great art.

He-Man was a TV show..  (also we went nuts with that..  with my brother we had a bunch of the action figures). I love those well crafted shows that had also great and interesting music..  main theme and above all the incidental pieces! I was impressed finding that great sounding video.

I was thinking the music would be more moody, more what I think of as Spanish music.  But it fits the joy of youth.  On the other, definitely saw the first stop motion animation with Speedracer (which I mentioned more than once).  I was not watching a lot of cartoonage by then, when it came out.  But it came back in spades when my son was young and Pokemon was de rigueur, so I appreciate how ahead of it's time it was, in retrospect.
