BRIGG An obscure band from the town of Danville, Pennsylvania, who recorded one self-titled album on the equally obscure Susquehanna label. Brigg's independently-spirited band members said their album wasn't created for commercial gain, which is just as well, bearing in mind its limited pressing quickly disappeared without trace. although, in common with many albums buried deep in the psychedelic underground from over half a century ago, it's now been unearthed and given a well-deserved new lease of life on the Internet. 1973: Brigg - Brigg - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6g4R6bduWSU Brigg - New Found Rain (from a new found band) Edited by Psychedelic Paul - February 13 2024 at 06:34 |

BRIGADE A band and album buried so deep Underground that they're virtually unknown even in their native Portland, Oregon. Apparently there are only 100 vinyl copies of the album in existence after having their recording contract terminated, but Brigade had the last laugh though, winning Portland's Battle of the Bands with first prize of a Cadillac hearse - just like the one Neil Young used to drive. 1970: Brigade - Last Laugh - http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLG-InimcgCwMXMUKrAxw70V_mxkGrc1b4 Meanwhile, Mr Bean has the last laugh as an extra with a German army brigade. BREAKTHRU A Brummie band who never quite managed to get their big breakthrough, having last been seen trying to navigate their way around Birmingham's Spaghetti Junction on Adventure's Highway - better-known to us all as the Aston Expressway. 2007: Breakthru - Adventures Highway (compilation) - http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kzvqFE7v9dxB0ayRv9J6LUPH_DcwGvX6w Grieg Lake - The Story of Peer Gynt

BRASS MONKEY It's brass monkey weather outside today, so why not stay inside and keep warm with the psychedelic sounds of Brass Monkey, an album of cover versions to listen to under the covers. Some say, the enormous cost of running a gas boiler to keep warm at today's prices is a bit like burning money, so let's find out with the Top Gear Team in their latest challenge. THE BRAIN POLICE With a sly reference to Frank Zappa, the Brain Police are the second-best Psychedelic Rock band ever to emerge from San Diego, after Iron Butterfly. 1968: The Brain Police - Brain Police - http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kWR6VVWGa7-MtxM9QJrIWGueKYCc1GICk |

BOW STREET RUNNERS A fuzz, acid and flowers band from Fayetteville in North Carolina, nicknamed after London's original Metropolitan Police Force, established in 1749. The Bow Street Runners are a force to be reckoned with too, having produced a memorable psychedelicized masterpiece of all-original songs, complete with an LSD-inspired album cover which could only have come from the late-1960's flower-power hippy counter-culture. Yeah, far out dudes! 1970: Bow Street Runners - Bow Street Runners - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HB7H99QAZGE Edited by Psychedelic Paul - February 07 2024 at 09:31 |

BOREALIS A Newfoundland band with an album that'll leave you feeling all aglow, Sons of the Sea has the distinction of being the first album of all-original material recorded in the Atlantic Provinces of Canada, and with only 500 vinyl copies pressed, this ultra-rare album now sells for up to $750, but it's absolutely free to listen to right here on PA, as always.

BOLD Massachusetts band Bold can't promise to leave your "whites looking whiter than white", but they could boldly promise a good time at the Playboy Club in the Big Apple where they played seven nights a week. 1969: Bold - Bold - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KV_puJJl_Ok Edited by Psychedelic Paul - February 04 2024 at 05:54 |

BOKAJ RETSIEM Quite simply one of the best psychedelic bands there's ever been, or ever will be, not just in Germany, but the entire world! And if you're wondering what on earth Bokaj Retsiem means, then try reading it backwards. Still none the wiser? Frere Jacques - a traditional French children's song. 1968: Bokaj Retsiem - Psychedelic Underground - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMoa35sUXAc So Bad (but really so good). Don't let me be misunderstood, but you may recognise this song, even if you've never heard it before. |

BOHEMIAN VENDETTA Is this the real life, or is it just fantasy? No, it's Bohemian Vendetta, a Psychedelic Rock band from Long Island, New York, with a tripped-out version of The Stones (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, only without the rubber lips. |

BODO MOLITOR Hola amigos! Bodo Molitor was a German-born Mexican musician with a psychedelic album jam-packed full of international hits, featuring fuzzy guitars, a whirling Farfisa organ and gravelly vocals, and including cover versions of great songs by The Doors, The Beatles, Nina Simone, Wilson Pickett and a fair sprinkling of original compositions too. In other words, everything you could wish for and more besides in the best of the late 1960's flower-power era. Adios. 1969: Bodo Molitor - Hits Internacionales - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSOtTzb5oIM Edited by Psychedelic Paul - January 31 2024 at 09:27 |

BOB SMITH Why not take a trip down the Pacific Coast Highway with Bob Smith. This tripped-out masterpiece of West Coast psychedelia is one Visit you won't want to miss out on. It's a gloriously warm and sunny album of sun, sand, sea and surf. Just try not to get any sand in your Bermuda shorts. 1970: Bob Smith - The Visit - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIrPa9cvlCo |

BAKERLOO Emerging from the London Underground comes psychedelic blues-rock band Bakerloo, originally known as The Bakerloo Blues Line. You may not remember Bakerloo - after all, they only stuck around long enough to record one self-titled album - but the band included notable future members of Colosseum, Family, Humble Pie, May Blitz, Graham Bond's band, Vinegar Joe, Judas Priest and Uriah Heep, reading like a veritable Who's Who of early British Rock. 1969: Bakerloo - Bakerloo - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDF86GZ-MkA

BLUES CREATION Konichiwa! Prepare for a storming banzai blitz of fire and fury over Tokyo with Kazuo Takeda and Blues Creation. The band name was shortened to Creation from 1975 onwards when they were joined by Felix Pappalardi of Mountain, who was destined for a tragic end years later when he was shot dead by his wife in 1983. 1969: Blues Creation - Blues Creation - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2AjeDh2SIk&t=123s 1971: Blues Creation - Rolling Stone Live - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSsDnd56pT4&t=9s 1971: Blues Creation - Carmen Maki Blues Creation - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHUq9LAmmDo 1971: Blues Creation - Demon & Eleven Children - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDt4DCRMdec Edited by Psychedelic Paul - January 28 2024 at 07:01 |

BLUE PHANTOM Magnifico! Blazing a trail through Italy in the style of Iron Butterfly, the astounding sounds and amazing music of Blue Phantom have the Unconscious Power to enthral and delight the listener with the ultimate Soul Experience. Blue Phantom are quite simply the best Italian psych band on the World Wide Web - and that's the truth with no Distortions or alternative facts. In-a-Gadda-da-Vida, indeed! BLUE MOUNTAIN EAGLE A Country-tinged, Psychedelic Rock band that sprang up from the remains of the New Buffalo Springfield formed by drummer Dewey Martin, who were flying high for a brief time, supporting Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Love and Pink Floyd amongst others, but then had their wings clipped by Atlantic Records when their single and album failed to take off. 1970: Blue Mountain Eagle - Blue Mountain Eagle - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HrR6-hX44U |
