Negativity begets negativity.  I do wish we would all try to be a little more tolerant, open-minded, and thick skinned, and complain a lot less (most are good here, but sometimes some of us can get rather snide, demanding, and generally bitchy). I do think it important to look at our own faults, and how others might perceive us, and be quicker to judge ourselves and what we think than others -- be sceptical about ourselves and critical of ourselves and even notions we hold dear.

We may have the right to complain, but that doesn't make it right.  And what is redundant to you or me may not be redundant to everyone.  I think how one phrases things is important, such as saying, "I would rather X because Y reasons" rather than potentially coming across as bitter and spiteful.  What may be a problem for one person might not be a problem for another, so it's important to recognise that we each speak/ think from our own perspective according to our own biases and can't always expect others to feel the same or to act in the way that we would want.  And "after a while, you can work on points for style."

I don't think I am being negative, or intolerant or narrow-minded. My only complain was about the abundance of videos of bands that don't need video presentations. That's all. I'm not even the complaining type of person.
Disagreeing with someone does not mean I am negative or that I am complaining. It means I just have a different opinion. That's all.

^ It's fine to have a different opinion - you voiced your opinion three times though, I for one got a bit annoyed.

I was actually responding to Logan.

If I ever upset or irritate you, it was never my intention. You were  not even the one to post the "pointless" videos, because like you said, you did not ignore my observation. LOL

The last and only time I listened to A Momentary Lapse of Reason was in 1989, and despite being rather inebriated at the time,  I remember that night quite well. "On the Turning Away" I know very well because it got so much airplay here back when I would still listen to rock radio, but Signs of Life I did not readily remember.  I would not expect everyone to know or remember such music well or so-well that a reminder might be of no benefit.

There is much music that I know so well that it may seem pointless to ever listen to again as I can anticipate every note, but I might still like to aurally experience again even when I can play that music well in my own head.  That which is pointless to you or to me may not be pointless to all others.  I find that kind of assumptive thinking quite arrogant.  When we get annoyed, often the problem isn't with others, it's with us.  We may get annoyed too easily.  If I'm annoyed, that's my problem, and sometimes I may force that problem on others which will annoy others.  Readily expressing annoyance can be really annoying, I think.  Being a pessimist and rather too cynical, I know I far to often do annoy others.  Complaining is what really annoys a lot of people, and talk to my wife, I am one hell of  a whiner. LOL  Sad, but true. At least I recognise it and feel a sense of shame about it.  Whiners never win and winners never whine I like to tell myself.

I won't tell you how to think, Cristi, but I recognise that my negativity is a problem, and wish I were more positive and would focus more on the posts and topics that I appreciate than on ones that I don't (ones where I think I can have an interesting conversation and hopefully say something insightful, although as I get older it seems I become less insightful).  People generally don't appreciate people who complain a lot, demand a lot, and take things personally a lot. So many topics turn into philosophical and psychological discussions....

Everyone except for I and Greg the Logan has ignored you. That means we get your point. Sadly no one on this thread agrees with you. Time to stop complaining.

We don't have a rule about not posting famous tracks that I am aware of, but of course one can make such requests both to the poster and one can suggest rules/ guidelines.    I'm not comfortable with people dictating that others not do it.

I'm okay with posting famous songs, just not full albums generally or overloading topics with videos in many threads, which is something that some people have found issue with me (I've always had premium internet service).  That said, I'm more interested in hearing the lesser known ones and loved listening to that Cymbaline one and I love More (my favourite from it is "Cirrus Minor").

This is one of my absolute Pink Floyd favourites:

Just one More song. An extended version of my favourite song from one of the two underrated Pink Floyd soundtrack albums.....

I've heard rumor that it was a good album.
This message was brought to you by a proud supporter of the Deep State.

On the Turning away is not the opening song on AMLOR. Confused
you can't make posts like that when you have information everywhere...

also, are you spiting me? Stop posting videos of famous songs and bands, we've all heard them a thousand times.

^Nice! I like the guitars drifting down the stream!!!
Oh, and it's a good song too. It is a good album in general, I've barely listened to it though. Perhaps I should listen some more.
