Bandcamp is featuring 5 albums/artist at the moment - so far all are great.
From Electronic/Dance influenced rock (Really good) to some Bon Iver'ish Folk. All of the albums featured are great, but the only prog one is The Earth is a Man. Instrumental math-rock in the vein of Minus the Bear or This Town Needs Guns. |

Cloudkicker is a solid band. If you like them a lot try Novallo, another Djent band from Columbus.

@cheezus: you need to post five times in order to be able to open a thread (in other sections than Welcome Newbies). It's an anti-spam measure we took recently, it was mentioned in the confirmation email you received when registering, I think.

Hey guys,
If the bands that you recommend are not on PA already, why not suggest them for inclusion first? Check this out: Suggest New Bands and Artists. |

The Enablers now have their new album Blown Realms and Stalled Explosions for the "Name Your Own Price" tag.
Great post-influenced rock with spoken word poetry. |

For fans of Tool, Mastodon, Isis and King Crimson I would recommend finnish band Nauticus and their latest album "The Wait". Three songs from the album can be listened from their bandcamp-page. http://nauticus.bandcamp.com/album/the-wait "The Wait" is a seven song concept album with eight tracks on it, that was furiously written, composed, practiced and recorded within a period of two and a half years. An apocalyptic lyrical theme flows through an hour of experimental, psychedelic and visionary landscape of rock, metal and alternative. From the beginning the objective has been to make music that will stand the test of time and an album that takes the listener to a complete journey through out the whole release, not something you listen song by song on shuffle with your MP3-player. The band feels there is no need for over the top individual musical showmanship, as the aim is to bring forth a strong vision as a single unit. " |

Trojan Horse have remixed their self-titled debut (Trojan Horse Redux). The new mix (along with the original) is free to download on Bandcamp and to my mind is an improvement on the original, bringing out the proggy elements much more for me. The CDR is £6 and well worth picking up if only so you can stress about how you are going to fit it into your CD rack!

Thanks! Actually I'd say that's a pretty good description - I like AES quite a bit and obviously we get the Mahavishnu comparisons a lot because of the violin. |
