Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the albums are bad, they deserve praise. It's just my personal opinion.

I disagree with him on three counts - I don't think Codera is that great.

I personally think this album is a bit overrated...
Though granted, this next album makes the previous one feel underrated by comparison...

I don't like the word overrated. There could be an album that is rubbish for most of people, but masterpiece for another. People just never see/hear/feel the same things when they're listening to same music. Like me and my brother. He loves 2112 from Rush and I love Pawn Hearts from VDGG and we think the second album is not so good. I don't enjoy Thick as a brick , I don't enjoy 2112, but I'd never say it's overrated.

Performing a classical piece is not a cover it is an adaption.

Three. Electric Ladyland was released about a month before the White Album.

I love that album and have been listening to it constantly for the last couple weeks, but Cans and Brahms always gets in the way - it doesn't seem to really fit in. Rick Wakeman always has this flair for showing off his obsession with classical music, which is great; however, when the band you just joined is creating an album comprised of individual solo pieces and band songs woven together, choosing to cover something seems very non-uniform. That's my one complaint, but still I like the way he did it.

He didn't want to do a cover, but he had to because he was signed on to another record company for his solo work; they owned the rights to all of his compositions and weren't about to let another record company get a share of the pie. So Wakeman had to play a cover so that his piece could appear on the record. |
IIRC, he may have contributed to "South Side Of The Sky" and "Heart Of
The Sunrise", but wasn't given credit for similar reasons, though,
somehow, he did get credit for his contributions to "Siberian Khatru".

As an overrated album , probablt Fragile. Never understood the hype. |
I personally love Fragile, and would say that historically speaking it is one of the most important albums to the genre. Remove Fragile from history and many others would disappear "Back to the Future" style. |
I think Fragile is at the very least solid, elegant and near-flawlessly made - if not outright great. Someone complained about Mr. Wakeman wasting time on playing classical music - come on, it's only a 1-minute long intermezzo! Actually, those little plug-ins (esp. 5% and The Fish) are one of my favorite delicacies of the album.

Not only here, but across the board it's well liked and is one of the few Floyd albums that all the band members love. I like it moderately, but I swear I can really get bored of trying to sit through Shine On.

I find Wish You Were Here a really overated album especially on a progressive website. I think it's nothing but popsh*t and too lenghty songs with no content. I'd say it's not an horrible album, tere's good songs in it but it's a really really average album and here it's rated as a masterpiece.

It is central to establishing whether Beatles are overrated. No, you are right, this is getting off topic.
