RIP Keith - your Moog and Hammond were part of the soundtrack of my life. Devastated about the news and even more so by the circumstances being reported. My heroes are falling and I'm seriously getting down when the likes of Chris Squire and others are passing away. I was only listening to the wonderful 'Three Fates Project'' the other day, and a dose of Karn Evil 9, Hoedown and 'The Endless Enigma' was called for tonight. Tears in my eyes during the 'Fugue' section. The World is an emptier place tonight. Deepest condolences to family and friends. Prog forever!

Seems it was a suicide---I think it is hard for some to grow old and not function the way they once did. Some cannot find a new use for life. I feel for him. Very sad--RIP

Our idols are growing old.
Sadly there are very few to take their places.

I immediately thought of the piano improvisations from their 1974 live album.
But I was not expecting "suspected suicide". At 71 I was expecting more elderly aliments. Too shocked by the fact he might have taken his own life. And worse, all the know-nothings in the Media will be all "lol! He wore extravagant costumes!" but if they did their job then they'd make more of a note that Keith really was our greatest keyboardist in Prog.
I've looked at tomorrow's headlines and not a single one have Keith's death on the front.

I read the same, shame if he took his life |
I'd thought him a balanced gifted fellow who'd escape from depressing feelings and die a very old happy brother whose eyes shine, that just laughs at everything and doesn't care about health problems.
Now in the rock'n'roll world, we hear those drums that sound like weapons...A "bullet in his head" is tuned to his impetuous showmanship and lifestyle somehow.
Let's do better than him if we can, if we're in similar condition, and treasure the amazing works. Great achievements won't kill themselves.
to all those who felt close to him like me

one of the best keyboarders in rock music.
lots of deaths in music recently. makes me think of a line from Shakespeare's "King Lear": "as flies to wanton boys are we to the Gods. they kill us for their sport".

Oh my god. No. I do not like the way 2016 is going. Keith is the greatest keyboard player of all time and that's a fact. You want to talk about the true definition of prog, you watch that man's hands fly all over the keys. Hopefully, Bowie, Squire and Emerson are making beautiful music for God up in heaven. RIP
