Pity they no longer come to Swindon. Two great gigs at The Art Centre as I remember after the Focus 8 and Focus 9 releases.

I like Hogarth and the latest Marillion album is excellent imo.

God, I can't stand Hogarth, makes me sick To me Hogarth is to Marillion as Collins (vocals ) was to Genesis. Nobody can yodel as Thijs and very few have his charisma, I wish he joined with Jan Akkerman once more

Indeed!...But I've just got to share this cover of one of their very old songs with you:
A tremendous effort - Live at Marillion Weekend 2007: Steve Hogarth is a truly great singer, but no match for Thijs van Leer when it comes to yodeling!!

LOL! - When I was 10 years old all I had to listen to was The Beatles, The Searchers and The Dave Clark Five! Prog wasn't even a dot on the horizon in those days, but I loved my music nevertheless! The first record I ever had bought for me by my parents was 'Nellie The Elephant' by Mandy Miller - originally released in 1956...and when you listen to this, and realise the kind of stuff I was brought up on, perhaps you'll appreciate why I have such a nightmare these days trying to understand all the modern prog sub genres!! Needless to say, 'trumping' has been banned in our house ever since...

The last two albums are criminally underrated imo so looking forward to this.
Seen them live about 2 or 3 times in the last ten years , always great value.

Dude, I was 10 years old back then , I barely listened to any music Thank you for the good vibes anyway, at least in their last visit I could get a few autographs by the band (it was more of a pure luck thing than anything). I even had the chance to have a small chat with Bobby Jacobs and Menno Gootjes, I was wearing a Discipline shirt that night (the King Crimson album, not the band) and Gootjes was wearing a Kiss shirt, and we both agreed on King Crimson being an incredible band and how easily Kiss went downhill quickly, after releasing a semi-decent first album

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect. |

They have played there twice: The other time was 25th March 2003 at Teatro Astral, Buenos Aires. They have played much more regularly in Brazil of couse, and to a lesser extent in Mexico. Hopefully, if the new material is well received they will come to you again one day too.

Consider yourself lucky, as the band is going to be touring in your country. I live in Argentina, and this year's gig was their only one in here so far. My hopes are kind of high for a second time, anyway

^ Agreed! I've seen them live too, at the Wolverhampton (Bilston more accurately) Robin 2 venue, and they were tremendous, but let's face it, these guys have been playing together off-and-on for quite some time now, so there's every reason for them to be a tight band. Should be a really cracking tour!!
